Chalet Edelweiss

Our spacious, brand new detached chalet is equipped with every conceivable luxury and has a large sun terrace of 35m2. Located in the picturesque mountain village of Hohentauern, in the Austrian Styria, you have a breathtaking view of the Rottenmanner Tauern mountain range. Here you can enjoy in peace. In the immediate vicinity you will find the main facilities: supermarket, several restaurants within walking distance and in winter you are right on the ski slope (valley run to the mountain village). In the immediate vicinity is a playground for children while you can enjoy a drink on the terrace of the Chalet.

The chalet is tastefully and attractively furnished and has a beautifully landscaped alpine garden and private ample parking . The chalet itself is made entirely of solid wood with large beams which completes a beautiful typical Austrian experience. As soon as you enter the door through the entrance to the spacious living room, you immediately have a breathtaking view of the mountain massif around the Chalet. In the living room you will find a typical Austrian dining / sitting area from where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding area during the meal. The living room is also equipped with a large natural gas fireplace that can be operated by means of a remote control. There is also a luxurious open kitchen, which is equipped with all comforts (dishwasher, combi-oven, large fridge with freezer compartment and ceramic hob).
Through the French doors you can enter the sun terrace through the living room where you will find a massive larch wood table and benches. Tip: eat outside on the sun-drenched terrace!
On the ground floor there is a bathroom with toilet and a luxurious rain shower next to the living room and open kitchen. All in the modern luxury style but still warm so that you keep the alpine feeling.
Through a beautifully finished beech wooden staircase you reach the upper floor , where you will find 4 spacious bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a cot available. Next to the 4 bedrooms you will find a luxurious bathroom with wellness. In the bathroom you will find a Jacuzzi whirlpool, a spacious rain shower, toilet and an infrared sauna!

Outside you can use a beautiful barbeque- located in the alp garden with views over the mountain landscape. At the BBQ you will find a picnic table where you can eat. You will also find outside a (ski) storage room and in the entrance you will find (ski) shoe heaters.

The environment is characterized by a beautiful nature. A real tip is to visit the mountain restaurant Edelrautehuette (located at the foot of the Rottenmanner Tauern mountain range) which you can also reach by car.

Winter
A ski school (and ski rental) is available in Hohentauern. Here you can get ski lessons in winter and hire skis or other winter equipment. In addition, Hohentauern has its own ski area and you can descend from the summit (mountain buffet Wichtelhuette) on 2 sides. The ski area includes a practice slope where beginners can learn how to ski. Besides skiing, you can also go cross-country skiing, ice skating, hiking and tobogganing in the area. Right next to the chalet is an alpine meadow where the children with the toboggan in the (ski) storage at the chalet can sledge wonderfully.

Summer
Hohentauern is truly an undiscovered pearl in the Alps where mass tourism has not yet started . For people who are looking for a little more entertainment, Graz is where you can find everything a big city can offer. In the summer the area is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. Besides walking and cycling there is much more to do. For example, there is the Celt village on the mountain lake. At the mountain lake next to the restaurant with terrace at the water, there are also boats for rent. In addition, there is also an amusement park and a wildlife park near Hohentauern, including a natural lake near Gaishorn. For the wellness is highly recommended Aqualux in Fohnsdorf. In addition to all these fun things, the Formula 1 circuit of Spielberg is nearby.

Spring and autumn
Chalet Edelweiss lends itself extremely well to enjoy in the spring or autumn. In the spring everything turns green again and graze the alpine cows in the alpine meadows. The last snow is on the mountain peaks, but the valley is already pleasant and warm. In the warm spring sun it is pure enjoyment on the terrace of the chalet. In the autumn, the forests show their mighty beautiful autumn colors. The larch trees color light brown which gives a nice contrast with the first snow on the mountain tops. The valley is also pleasant and pleasant to spend during the day before the winter makes its appearance. In the fall, the advantage is that there is no crowds but rather enjoyment of peace and quiet. Then it is ideal to forget the hectic pace of daily life. There are several restaurants in the area open (although of course less than in summer or winter) but of course you can always cook yourself in the chalet.
