Our Zeeland family home is located in a unique and idyllic location, centrally located on the island of Walcheren, close to the sea and beach.
Located on the edge of the hamlet of "Mariekerke", it offers a beautiful view of the Zeeland landscape. We have extensively renovated the house (1880) in 2013. With attention to the history of the house, we have turned it into a modern and comfortable family home. With plenty of space and the necessary luxury so that we can enjoy our holidays completely relaxed. And so do you, of course!!
There is space and tranquility both indoors and outdoors. Not surprising with so much living (250m2) and outdoor space (2850 m2).
The family house consists of a main house and two outbuildings. All situated around a beautiful garden. The main house has 7 bedrooms (14 beds and 1 cot) and can therefore accommodate up to 14 people. Downstairs, the house is divided into 3 large separate rooms and a sleeping area (2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a WC):
- The heart of the house is the high living-sitting room (old barn part) with large fireplace and wooden roof walls. Through French doors you enter the garden.
- The space in between is the living/dining kitchen. This is fully furnished and fully equipped. Here too, French doors provide access to the garden.
- The back room is the so-called 'TV room'. Here you can watch a movie or lie down on the couch with a book. In winter or on cold summer evenings, we enjoy the crackling of burning wood in the wood stove.
There are 3 bathrooms with shower and sink, 3 toilets and a utility room with washing machine. Because there are several rooms, everyone can make themselves comfortable.
Garden and 'chill house'
The charming, wooded garden has plenty of sunny spots, a terrace with outdoor kitchen (BBQ) and garden table. Next to the house is the 'chill house'. The former garage has been converted into a chill, relax and play area with sauna, table tennis table and wood stove. In short, a space where everyone can relax.
Central location
Our family home is located in Mariekerke (municipality of Meliskerke) about 4 km from the beach of Zoutelande. Due to the central location of Mariekerke on Walcheren, most of the 'sights' are easily accessible. For example, the cozy old seaside resort of Domburg is 6 km away, Middelburg 8 km away, Vlissingen 12 km away and the historic town of Veere is only 11 km away. The bakery and the butcher (the best in all of Walcheren!!) can be found 2 km away. In short, you can go almost anywhere by bike.
Fully equipped
The house is completely ready for you to enjoy immediately! You park your car next to the house (3 places) and your holiday begins. Your bed (with down duvet)is already made and towels are also ready for you. There is Wifi that you can use and there is a large TV. You can also use the sauna. The entire house is heated with central heating. Underfloor heating in most rooms. There is one cot available (and 2 high chairs)
