Welcome to DE KIEVIT, an attractive and detached holiday home in the middle of the green, located on the edge of the beautiful nature reserve the Witte Bergen in IJhorst. This cozy holiday home is ideal for peace seekers, hikers and nature lovers who want to escape the hustle and bustle.
The cottage is located on a spacious plot in a wooded area and offers plenty of privacy. From the sunny terrace you look out on the trees and you hear nothing but chirping birds, rustling leaves and the occasional squirrel jumping by.

The holiday home is located directly on walking and cycling routes, including the beautiful Reestdal. In the area you will find forests, heathland, small streams and picturesque villages. A short distance away are Meppel, Staphorst and Dwingelderveld National Park. Also perfect as a base for a day in Giethoorn.
During your stay, you can use the swimming facilities at the nearby campsite 'De Vossenburcht'. On the key ring you will find a key labeled 'DOM'. This allows you to enter the campsite through the entrance gate between cottages 3 and 5.
On the campsite you will find a heated outdoor swimming pool, a snack bar, a restaurant and a cosy children's playground. It is also possible to rent bicycles here.
Play pond De Zwarte Dennen
The recreational pond De Zwarte Dennen (distance 3.5km) is a wonderful place to enjoy good weather. The pond is surrounded by sand – perfect for sunbathing, building sandcastles or paddling in the shallows.
You can also find a quiet spot on one of the sunbathing areas.
There is a small kiosk where you can get snacks and ice creams, and there are toilets available.
The pond is freely accessible, and parking is within walking distance.
There is also plenty to do in the area: the area is ideal for walking, cycling or mountain biking through the beautiful forests of the Reestdal.
