Adjacent to one of the most beautiful estates in the Netherlands, Landgoed Twickel (known for Twickel Castle), lies Landgoed van Leeuwen, just outside the beautiful tourist old town of Delden. This estate has a special detached holiday villa with lots of space around the house.
The large wooden holiday villa feels pleasant and warm in the middle of the blueberry garden in the wooded area and can be reached via a private driveway with electric gate. There is a lot of space and privacy around the holiday villa. About 100 meters away from the villa you will find the nearest walking path of Landgoed Twickel, running along the Twickelervaart.
The ground floor has a large living room with a country-style open kitchen, a spacious double bedroom, spacious bathroom with bath, shower cabin, separate toilet, tumble dryer and washing machine. In the reading corner you can make use of more than 100 (comic) books in peace. On the 1st floor you will find the Master Bedroom with a large luxury box spring, a separate toilet and the other bedroom with 2 beds with both electrically adjustable slatted bases. Each bedroom in the house has its own sink with mirror and cupboards. Outside you have access to a spacious terrace and a lot of space around the villa.
Landgoed van Leeuwen dates from the early 50s. The first resident, after whom the estate is now named, was Mr. Jules Jacob Adriaan Schagen van Leeuwen. Van Leeuwen was a former naval officer who played a very important role for Hollands Signaal before, during and after the 2nd World War (present; Thales) in Hengelo and later as a non-partisan Minister of the Navy. In 1948 he became director of Hollands Signaal. The holiday villa used to be a guest house and has also served as a place to study. At the end of the 90s, the holiday villa was completely renovated and quite recently everything has also been modernized.
In the immediate vicinity is the Twentse Golf Course and you can enjoy hiking, cycling and mountain biking in and around the large forests of Twickel or the rural surroundings. Within walking, cycling and driving distance there are many tourist activities, museums, regional markets and shopping centers. In Delden there is an outdoor swimming pool, nice restaurants and, for example, the Salt Museum and art museum No Hero. There are also regular regional markets. Just outside the nearby Bornerbroek is a large recreational lake for swimming, surfing and diving. The larger towns in the area (Hengelo, Almelo, Enschede and Oldenzaal) also have a lot to offer and can be reached easily and quickly.
Landgoed van Leeuwen is enjoying a beautiful wooded area!
