Holiday house

Holiday home near LANDGOED ERVE DEN  DAM in Goor  in the Hof van Twente

HOLIDAY HOME IN A HISTORIC YARD

The holiday home at Erve Den Dam was built in 2011 in an old Twente barn from 1909, presumably the year the farm was built. The barn was renovated with many old building materials in order to remain in the style of the early century. The tiles and other materials left over in the house were reused and supplemented. From a historic farm in the area - Erve Ziethof Bee, located in Ambt Delden  -  demolished before the year 2000 , a fireplace was cut from a large Bentheimer stone foundation plinth . Doors from this farm were also reused. Straight through the apartment are the oak trusses that form the basis of the building.

TECHNOLOGY AND FACILITIES

The entire space  - approximately 65 m2  and everything on the ground floor - was equipped with central heating with underfloor heating. The L-shaped room contains the kitchen with all modern comforts, such as a combination microwave, induction hob with extractor hood, fridge with small freezer compartment and dishwasher. In the fully equipped  kitchen, in addition to a kettle, there is  always coffee for the Senseo machine, div. types of tea and various herbs. In the room a TV with 65 channels, radio and  internet connection; also wifi.  All windows are located on South and West, the flat skylights provide sufficient light. In the living area a TV with 65 channels,  internet connection with wifi and a Bentheimer stone fireplace.

OUTDOORS

A private terrace on the Southwest -  equipped with garden furniture - provides sun and privacy.  Those who like the full sun a bit too much can go under the giant  walnut tree with a view of the landscape with forest edges, rabbits, hares and sometimes a deer.

BARN

Next to the house is a small shed for garden furniture and bicycles that can be charged there.

BEDROOM

The spacious bedroom has 2 single beds of 80x200 cm with electric control, equipped with sheep's wool duvets.  An old-fashioned mosquito net can be placed in the window. The beds are made unless you want to bring your own bed linen: 2 pillowcases, 2 single fitted sheets and 2 single duvet covers.  Furthermore, kitchen and bathroom linen.

THE BATHROOM

This has a toilet, shower,  a spacious sink and an extractor.

SCULLERY

Here is the central heating system, a washing machine with drying lines, a vacuum cleaner and a small storage space.

YARD OF THE  ESTATE

In the yard, next to the farmhouse, beautiful gardens have been laid out that are freely accessible, as are all the grounds of the estate.  For more photos of the gardens, see (*CONTENT HIDDEN*) Den Dam Estate.

PETS

Dogs are welcome but they must always be on a leash outside the house because of grazing sheep. The house is wheelchair friendly and all on one level.

DIRECTIONS

As the house is located on a long private road, it is difficult to find.  Directions will be sent on request.

GAS AND ELECTRICITY

In the winter months of November to March, gas and electricity costs can be charged. In the house there are meters for gas and electricity
