You can cancel free of charge up to one week before the start date. In case of cancellation, no costs will be charged and amounts already paid will be refunded by us.
This former PTT telephone exchange has been converted into a modern holiday home with two bathrooms and two bedrooms. It is completely free on its own plot and not on a holiday park.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, two types of coffee makers (Senseo and filter machine) and an induction hob.
The cottage has free WiFi and television via KPN Digitenne-TV (here you can see 34 Dutch and English channels, unfortunately no German or French ones).
Nowhere in the Netherlands can such a succession of heaths, forests, ponds, river valleys, arable and meadow fields be found. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage there are numerous options for walkers and cyclists such as the Limburg Cycling Junction Route, various marked walking routes through the Roer Valley, the De Meinweg National Nature Park, De Meer/Melickerveld nature reserve and the Maasplassen.

The municipality of Roerdalen consists of four rural villages; Vlodrop, Herkenbosch, Melick and St. Odiliënberg, which are connected by the meandering river De Roer.
Here you can take a canoe trip, which can be booked at Boerderijhoeve Schurenhof, Grootestraat 49 in Vlodrop.
The holiday home is located along the local road between Melick and Herkenbosch and is the perfect base to explore the above-mentioned nature reserves on foot or by bike. Directly in front of the house the vast Roer valley begins and at the back the house borders the Agricultural Nature Reserve De Meer/Melickerveld.
The National Park De Meinweg, about four kilometers away from the house, can best be compared to De Veluwe in terms of size and appearance. It extends far into Germany. Deer, roe deer and wild boar, among others, live there. At the entrance of the park is the visitor center where numerous fun and educational activities, temporary exhibitions and theme afternoons are organized throughout the year.
Various streams flow right through the Meinweg area, such as the Boschbeek and the Rode Beek. Here you will find quiet fens, vast forests and heaths. You can walk there for hours without meeting anyone.
There are also numerous bridle paths, hiking trails (Nordic Walking) and cycling opportunities (Mountenbiking) in De Meinweg. You can rent an (electric) bicycle at Jaspers Rijwielen in Roermond (book in advance). They can possibly. deliver the bicycles to the holiday home. There is also a beautiful golf course and a horse riding school (De Venhof) on the edge of the area. De Venhof also rents out stable space for people who want to take their own horse on holiday.
The pleasant shopping city of Roermond on the Maasplassen with its large old center, market on Saturdays, terraces, water sports facilities, outlet center, mega cinema and casino is about 5 kilometers away from the cottage.
