Our picturesque cottage is located (on our fully enclosed court) in the former Onder Speckholz/Terwinselen, the current Kerkrade West. The cottage is equipped with every comfort and is a cozy base to explore South Limburg and its surroundings as a couple or with a group (up to 5 people). The cottage has its own front door, private terrace, toilet on the ground floor, private living room (underfloor heating) with open (fully equipped) kitchen (including bean coffee machine and dishwasher), 2 bedrooms and a bathroom (with toilet). There is wifi and a (smart) TV.
The house is part of a centuries-old farm (1733) and used to be the horse stable with accommodation for the servant. The cottage has been renovated with authentic and natural materials such as wood, loam, wool, reed and lime. Because it is a very old building with thick brick walls and a wooden supporting structure and roof, it is a special experience to stay in it. The interior is modern with a nod to the past.
Motorcyclists (max 2) can park their motorcycle safely and dry under our (locked) gate. Bicycles can also be stored under the gate. There is sufficient space in the street for parking.
The cottage is clean and the beds are made on arrival. Everything for coffee/cappuccino (bean machine) and tea is available. So are cooking herbs, kitchen linen, shampoo, shower soap and towels (all included in the price). Smoking inside is not allowed, as well as gourmet, frying and meat fondue.
We look forward to welcoming you! Normally you are welcome after 15.00. Departure around 10.00 (unless the cottage is not rented out after your stay. Then you can leave later).
We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. If you want to bring your own dog, please discuss this in advance.
Finally: the holiday home is an old building with an old, but therefore also somewhat steep and high staircase (with banisters!). The house is therefore less suitable for people with walking difficulties . This also makes the house less suitable for very young children. However, there are stair gates everywhere and there is a high chair and cot available. If you are in doubt, please contact us first for consultation.
Because the stairs are steep and high, moving a larger suitcase is an annoying thing. Therefore, it is better not to take larger suitcases with you.
