Holiday house

NaturallyLievelde

9.6

Our cozy and comfortable detached holiday homes, NatuurlijkLievelde and LieveLievelde are suitable for 6 people. NatuurlijkLievelde is located on the edge of the forest, in Lievelde (Achterhoek). The house is built in Saxon style and situated on a small and quiet holiday park. This cozy house has a lot of privacy. The house is furnished in a country style, recently renovated (2017) and equipped with a new kitchen and bathroom. The house has a wood stove (free use of firewood), patio doors, terraces on the south, spacious parking for two cars and a spacious garden (1000m2) located on the edge of the forest and meadows. A wonderful place to completely unwind, in the middle of nature.

Lievelde lies on one of the most beautiful places that the Achterhoek is rich. Surrounded by the green peace of vast forests, meadows and historic places. Virtually nowhere in the Netherlands is the diversity of the landscape so varied; woods, meadows, trees, brooks, hedges, farms and castles form a beautiful landscape. In short, starting point for various bicycle routes and walking routes. Moutain bikers and cyclists can also indulge themselves here. Node 33 is next to the park. Along most routes you will find many stalls where you can buy fruit, plants or homemade jams. You can pause at a "uutblaoshuusken" (which means "blowing out" in Dutch). In the Achterhoek lies the hospitality for the taking. "Feel welcome" and enjoy the idyllic places to relax and enjoy.

Come wander through the atmospheric towns. Each town has its own authentic atmosphere, beautiful old streets, nice shops, cozy squares with restaurants and cafes. Lievelde is surrounded by the towns Lichtenvoorde, Aalten, the picturesque book town of Bredevoort, Winterswijk, Groenlo and last but not least the Hanseatic city of Zutphen with its monumental façades and courtyards. It is also a stone's throw away from the German border. In this beautiful environment is much, very much, to explore; cycling, walking or riding through the forests of the beautiful Achterhoek landscape, playing farmer's golf, wandering through a corn maze or wandering through the largest maze of the Netherlands in Ruurlo. But you can also take on the challenge of climbing in the tall trees of the climbing forest. You can also choose to explore the area on the solex, scooter or electric bike. There are several castles and museum farms in the area that you can visit. Within walking distance of the cottage is a Achterhoek wine farm where you can taste wine, take part in a guided tour or one of the other packages. There is a large fishing pond within walking distance and there is also a trout pond nearby where you can fish. By car you are also within fifteen minutes in the Zwillbrocker Venn just over the German border at Groenlo, where you can watch flamingos. But of course you can also relax in the garden or at the fireplace in the holiday home.

The holiday home is suitable for people with walking difficulties and has a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.

We would like to receive all our guests in a beautiful and fresh house, to guarantee that pets and smoking are not allowed.

Lievelde has a train station (station Lichtenvoorde-Groenlo) and a bus station.

The English Sconce is a sconce used by the English troops during the Siege of Grol (Groenlo) by Frederik Hendrik in 1627. This sconce was built by the English mercenaries and used as a base during the siege of Groenlo.
The beer brand Grolsch, originally brewed in Groenlo, sometimes uses Groenlo's history for beer names or advertising, including for the highly alcoholic 'Kanon' beer, referring to the cannon in Groenlo that was left by Frederik Hendrik. In 2008 Grolsch also became the name giver of the FC Twente stadium. The chosen name was De Grolsch Veste, referring to the expression "As fixed as Grolle" and the past of the fortress Groenlo. In 2006 children's book writer Arend van Dam published a historical youth book called Onder vuur , which takes place during the siege of Groenlo in 1627. The book is about Bregje, a young girl from Grol and her father who is employed by the Spaniards in Grol. The story is based on a description by historian Nicolaes van Wassenaer, who was present during the siege. The Achterhoek rock band Normaal sings in their song "Zoependoedewi-jwa tapp'n dadoedie" (2004): "As steadfast as Grolle, it was like a cannon," as a reference to the fortress Grolle and its sieges. In Groenlo, with some regularity the events of 1627 re-enacted, which attracts many visitors. At the 'Battle of Grolle' in 2017, around 30,000 spectators were present, during which the siege was reenacted by some 1600 historical actors for three days. During the "Battle of Grolle" the siege of Groenlo is reenacted by historical actors. - and walking routes along historic locations in Groenlo and surroundings. In addition, a historic route can now be followed with a train.
