A 10-minute walk away is the Kootwijkerzand 'the largest sand drift in the Netherlands' with adjacent forest to Radio Kootwijk, the crown domains of Het Loo Palace, Hoog Soeren, the Stroese heath, Speulderbos and the Hoge Veluwe National Park with the Kruller Muller museum.

Kootwijk is centrally located. Just 1 km away from the A1 motorway to major cities; Amersfoort, Apeldoorn, Arnhem, Deventer, Harderwijk, Utrecht and Zutphen can be reached within 30 minutes.
