Cottage Blissful modern & sauna

The Veluwe is rich with beautiful forests, beautiful heaths and many different animals. The best environment to completely unwind and to feel at one with nature. Walk from your cottage within 20 metres into the forest for various walking routes.

Supermarkets

The nearest supermarket is the mini-supermarket in the park at the main entrance. The shop is open every day during the season (until 3 November) from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Fri./Sat until 6:00 pm) and on Sundays until 3:00 pm.

A 5-minute drive away is the center of Hoenderloo, a small picturesque village with a supermarket and the best ice cream parlor in Gelderland! The large city of Apeldoorn is an 18-minute drive away with all supermarket chains.

Restaurants

Restaurant de Ruggestee in the park at the main entrance is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 - 21:00 and has a menu for all ages and a large terrace (average main course € 23.50)

At a distance of 4 minutes drive from the park is restaurant 'De Proeftuin' with a varied menu (weekly menu 3-course € 24.50) and a large playground. For lunch, drinks and dinner they are open from 11:00 - 21:00 except on Mondays and Tuesdays.

For the real bon vivant, Gastrobar Riant is a must. They serve traditional dishes for lunch and special dishes to share for dinner (Chef's menu 3-course € 43.50) Riant is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Don't leave Hoenderloo before you've eaten Co's Ice Cream! The best ice cream parlor in the Veluwe is an 8-minute bike ride away in the center of Hoenderloo. Keep in mind that there will be some waiting time.

In large cities in the area such as Apeldoorn, Zutphen and Deventer there are many restaurants that are open daily.

Shop

Apeldoorn (22 min.) The nicest city in the area for shopping. In addition to all the large chains, Apeldoorn also has many small special boutiques and a beautiful city center.

Arnhem (30 min.) The large shopping center Kronenburg is an indoor shopping center where you can find everything you need. Nice in cold or rainy weather!

Museums

Kröller-Müller Museum (18 min.) Admire the largest Vincent van Gogh collection or one of the more modern masters such as Picasso, Monet or Mondrian.

Stedelijk Museum Zutphen & Museum Henriette Polak (38 min.)

CODA museum Apeldoorn (22 min.) CODA's collection of contemporary and modern art includes paintings, sculptures, artists' books and jewellery.

Amusement & Animal Parks

Apenheul (19 min.) Be surprised by the many monkey species that roam freely in this park! (Open from 22 March to 10 November)

Burgers' Zoo (22 min.) is one of the largest zoos in the Netherlands.

Amusement park Julianatoren (22 min.) is for all children and there is also plenty to do for the little ones.

Adult outings

Thermen Bussloo (22 min.) is a large wellness center where you can relax in the many saunas and enjoy various treatments and massages.

Zwaluwhoeve (45 min.) is known for their attractive packages for a sauna visit or a wonderful massage.
