The Tiny Walnut is an attractive holiday home (lodging / minimum 2 nights) for 2 to 3 people and is located in the beautiful hamlet of Hien in the Betuwe. On the ground floor is the spacious bathroom with rain shower, double sink, toilet, washing machine and dryer. At the entrance there is a blanket chest with games and the stairs to the top are automatically illuminated.
The upper floor has a luxury kitchen with all modern conveniences. (hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, combination microwave, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother). At the kitchen is a cozy dining area overlooking the garden and the countryside.
A comfortable bed of 180cm wide and you can choose between a double duvet or 2x a single duvet. There is also a luxurious fold-out bed for a possible 3rd person that we can place next to the kitchen. A nice seating area should of course not be missing. Here hangs the Smart-TV with a.o. Netflix and free Wifi are available. The upper floor has air conditioning and there is also a fan.
Outside of The Tiny Walnut there are many places where you can sit. Under the canopy with wood stove (free wood) and here is also the gas BBQ (free) but also at the front on the lawn there are 2 seating areas. A table under the walnut tree (this is where the house owes its name) and on the grass is a lovely bench and chairs where the sun comes in the afternoon.
Within walking distance is the good restaurant Bij de Engel where you can also enjoy the beautiful terrace overlooking the floodplains and vines.
The cottage is located directly on the clog path 'Hiense pad' and ANWB cycling routes. Many clog paths are linked to each other so you can walk long distances. There are also beautiful walking routes around Hemmen and you can enjoy the castle gardens from May.
Cyclists can easily plan their cycling routes from junction to junction using the bicycle junction planner. Nice detail, many cycling and walking routes use various ferries (Waal and Rhine) in the area. If you take the ferry at Opheusden (you can also do it by car) you can easily reach the Utrechtse Heuvelrug where you will find many cycling and walking routes between the beautiful rolling forest landscape. At the crossing there are 2 fantastic restaurants 't Veerhuis and the Blauwe Kamer. A visit to the Arboretum is also worthwhile.
Cities such as Nijmegen, Arnhem, Wageningen can be reached within 20 minutes.
