The cottage
What a beautiful place to dream away. This holiday home can be found just outside the village of Jistrum near Burgum, exactly between Leeuwarden, Dokkum, Drachten and the Lauwersmeer. Super central and yet secluded with peace and space for three people. A completely renovated workers' cottage - a so-called forest house - on an idyllic sandy path in the Northern Frisian forests. On the floor-heated ground floor you will find an open kitchen with dining and sitting area and the bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, coffee maker, kettle, oven and toaster. The dining area is for four people and there are two armchairs in the sitting area. You have access to internet, interactive TV, a DVD player and a good sound system. The bathroom has a toilet, a large sink and a shower. There is a hair dryer and soap and bath linen is standard. Upstairs is the bedroom with three made beds and a wardrobe. Outside you have a large garden with playground equipment, a barbecue and fire pit. On the terrace at the entrance it is wonderful to drink coffee in the sun in the morning.
Nature and environment
Our Wâldhûske is quietly and secludedly located in a protected landscape - the heart of the Northern Frisian Woods. The area is characterized by centuries-old tree banks that exude the cozy atmosphere of a forest area. The flora and fauna is diverse and exuberant. You will be woken up in the morning by a magnificent concert of the many species of songbirds that live here. On the north side of the village of Jistrum, on a 300-year-old sandy path you will find this cottage. The sandy path is located in an area with - especially around Jistrum - more sandy roads suitable for walking, cycling and horseback riding in Friesland. Five kilometers away you will find the marina with the boathouse on the Bergumermeer. Nearby, on the lake, is a public swimming area with sunbathing area, beach and jetty. In the area, the water sports and nature village of Earnewâld is well worth a visit. You can go on a boat trip through a swamp area, the national park "De Alde Feanen". You will see cormorants, storks, spoonbills and, if you are lucky, otters. Beautiful historic cities are Leeuwarden, Dokkum, Harlingen, Franeker, Bolsward, Sneek and the towns along the IJsselmeer. The Frisian terp route or a day trip to one of the Wadden Islands are also recommended.
