Podere di Maggio is an organic farm in the south-east of Tuscany, one of the most beautiful and original parts of this region.
The landscape of olive groves, chestnut groves, open fields and sparkling clean streams murmuring towards the river is truly beautiful.

Here we grow olives and sweet chestnuts: The olive trees produce a fantastic extra virgin oil and the centuries-old chestnuts form a landscape of magical beauty.

Under these chestnut trees we rent a large canvas tent, placed on a spacious wooden terrace, in the shade of the old trees. The tent has a diameter of 5 meters and is equipped with a double bed, one or two single beds as desired, carpets on the floor, clothes rack, storage space and whatever else is needed for a comfortable stay. The tent is equipped with electricity and water.
The canvas is guaranteed waterproof and its thickness provides ample protection against wind and weather.
There is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen (under roof) with a 5-burner gas stove, and private refrigerator with freezer, plates, cutlery, etc. approximately 40 meters from the tent. The showers, toilets (both private) and the swimming pool are about 50 meters away.

We have been living at Podere di Maggio in Tuscany for 20 years and we still enjoy it.
It is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Tuscany, where water and air are still clean and the silence is still audible. We grow chestnuts on 30 hectares of land and make extra virgin olive oil, everything organic. The neighbor makes a nice wine (also organic), which we always have in stock.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Prices are calculated for 2 people, based on a tent for 2-4 people. For each person more (maximum 2) than 2, 20 per night will be charged.
For families with small children we usually charge a discount, to be agreed upon in consultation.

Prices include energy, bed linen and towels.
Bed linen and towels are changed weekly.

Sorano, completely built in tufa on top of a steep cliff, looks like a film set. In the vicinity you can make beautiful walks through a landscape full of Etruscan remains.

The Monte Amiata is an extinct volcano, 60,000 years ago the last eruption. A fantastic place for trekking.

An age-old sculpture park, very worthwhile! The large and often bizarre images of sphinxes and dragons were made in the 16th century by Pier Francesco Orsini, after a design by Pirro Ligorio. The images were a source of inspiration for artists such as Salvador Dali and Carel Willink. In 1968, Hella Haasse devoted an essay collection to the park: 'The Gardens of Bomarzo'.
