Villa Allegra is the former farm and dependence of the family Giovanetti, built in 1676 to make olive oil and wine from the family olive and vineyards in Sant'Andrea di Compito, a village in the hills 11 km south of Lucca.
Villa Allegra has been under new ownership since 2018. The house is decorated in traditional Tuscan style, with Italian antiques and new beds.
Villa Allegra consists of two buildings that are independent of each other, with their own terraces, but which share the garden and pool. The garden (3,500m) is quiet, with the constant burble of the stream in the background and shady spots to rest. There is room on the site for several cars and the house is easy to drive to, making excursions practical. Florence can be reached within 60 minutes, Pisa and its airport 40 minutes, Lucca 15 minutes, and Siena 90 minutes. Within a 5 minute walk from the house you will find the local tennis courts, the Pizzeria I Tre Tigli, two local bars and a village shop with local products from the region.
