Our studio (+ garden, terraces, balcony) consists of an attic, inviting over-complete kitchen made of walnut wood with black stone worktop. Espresso machine, filter coffee machine, toaster, smoothie maker, electr. citrus press, mixer, etc. Washing machine use can be requested. In the living room there is an extra sleeping sofa for 2 children (or 2 adults). Farmhouse stairs to the mezzanino (balcony in the interior) with a max. height of approx. 165 cm, ideal for sitting, reading, sleeping. There is a 160 cm bed on top with an electric box spring, Pullmann latex mattresses and memory foam topper. ---

The bathroom is small but nice (approx. 1.5 m2), and lovingly finished with a rain shower, mosaic and natural stone-porcelain stoneware. ---

The furniture has been chosen in a Tuscan atmosphere, is elegant, functional and stylish, but not everything is antique restored by an expert. Free WiFi, free satellite TV with 1 NL/BE channel in addition to German, English non-payment programs, stereo system, Blue-ray player, docking station for your phone, a library for tourist trips, novels in various European languages. From the large windows in the studio you have a view of the garden (south) and towards the west with sometimes dramatic sunsets. In front of the house, behind the ridge, much lower than the house, there is a public parking lot for approximately 15 cars, which does not cause any inconvenience due to the deep placement on the ridge. This public car park is used exclusively by the residents of the small hamlet of Colle, no thoroughfare, residents only (only 25 houses and the street is a dead end). ---

The natural garden covers approximately 650 m2 and has many cypresses, different types of palms, oleanders, myrtles, lavender, salvia, wild rosemary, various camellias, gardenias, plants from the pineapple family, aromatic herbs and herbs for cooking. Guests also have their own simple BBQ in the party tent above and have a view of the entire garden and the tower-shaped house with battlements as well as towards the sunset.---

Usually, guests have access to the entire garden in the early and late season (and by agreement also in the high season, if possible), because the apartment on the ground floor is not used by ourselves or the hosts, but is used during the high season. The rental price has been deliberately kept low to give guests the opportunity to do as much as possible (linen, final cleaning) themselves. The rental price is therefore based on two couples/families using the garden, but usually the guests are the only users in the early and late season. In the main season the hosts or owners will be discreetly present in the background and will be happy to give you tourist advice, etc.

Our house is ideally located strategically between cultural cities such as Pisa (30 min.), Florence (50 min.), Lucca (60 min.), Volterra/San Gimignano (70 min.) and Siena (90 min.) and 35 minutes by car. from the nearest beach. The children can play in the garden, small children and toddlers can be kept a close eye on from the balcony on the first floor on the cement terrace in front of the house. You can also place a children's pool there, very clear for the parents. --- From the house you can walk in 10 minutes to the castle in Lari or to the end of the hamlet of Colle with a walk in the valley, partly on Etruscan sunken roads that provide shade, partly on agricultural roads, the Strade Bianche . At the end of the hamlet of Colle is also the riding school of Elisabeth from Luxembourg (she also has goats, fun for the children). --- As dusk falls, you can study the sounds of wild birds and especially enjoy the song of the nightingale. The nature in the immediate vicinity of the villetta is still completely fine and has a rich flora and fauna, i.e. in addition to nightingales, also cuckoos, porcupines, wild pigs, rabbits, hares, deer, the green frog, porcini mushrooms (funghi porcini), truffles, orchids and many endangered species. Immediately behind the villetta lies a piece of “primeval forest” in the valley – absolutely typical for Tuscany – which also attracts mosquitoes in humid years.
