Casa Leonforte

Simple but comfortable 3 room holiday home with veranda and lovely private swimming pool (12x5x1.5 to 2.8m deep) in a very beautiful location with beautiful views!

Located on a fully enclosed plot of almost 3000m in the middle of nature. Privacy,  tranquility, views over villages / towns / beautiful landscape and yet at a very short distance from civilization!

Due to its central location in Sicily, this is an excellent base for day trips all over the island. In about 20 minutes by car you are on the A19 motorway that crosses practically the entire island from Catania to Palermo and where you can always get along well due to little traffic. It goes without saying that a car (renting) is really necessary.

Classification; Entrance,  living - dining room with a fitted kitchen with a 4 burner gas hob, electric oven, extractor hood and a fridge / freezer. You will also find a washing machine (also an ironing board and
iron are of course at your disposal) a LED TV and DVD with Chrome Cast for streaming your media (via your Ziggo Go app for NL TV channels for example or Netflix) and stereo – radio - CD (mp3) player, a 4-person dining table and a sitting area with a small 2-pers. sofa bed ( not suitable for  adults ). From this room you have a view of the lovely veranda with a 6-person dining table, In the house there are two more bedrooms, the master bedroom is equipped with a 2 person bed and a wardrobe, the children's bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed and a wardrobe. Finally, there is a neat bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.

Very good internet / wifi available in and around the house.

Outside you have plenty of opportunities for recreation at the swimming pool (with diving board) with 6  sunbeds and a parasol. . For BBQ lovers there is a large stone BBQ
present. Also in the evening it  is nice to sit outside due to the atmospheric lighting around the house, around (and in) the swimming pool and on the driveway.

Various extra services can also be booked through the key holders, such as delivery of meals, etc.

In the immediate vicinity you have the lively town of Leonforte within easy reach with many  churches and buildings, shops, terraces, but also a pleasant evening life with many (especially in the summer months) events. Don't miss a visit to the impressive cemetery. Also walk through the characteristic old Sicilian village center to the Gran Fonte.

A short distance and a little further away you will also find several old (charming and less charming) towns and villages such as Assoro, Enna, Calascibetta, Piazza Armerina, Nicosia or Caltagirone. A sprawl of a real nature reserve is also within easy reach. There are also several characteristic agriturismos with a fantastic kitchen nearby.

Water sports at the nearby Lago Nicoletti (reservoir and nature reserve) or Lago Pergusa near Enna.

Truly authentic Sicily, without mass tourism, culinary paradise and a lot of culture within reach!

To enjoy a day at the beach, you are within about 45 minutes by car at the beaches of (I lidi) Catania and if you want to combine the beach with nice shopping and dining in a nice place, we recommend Cefalu at more than an hour's drive. Day trips to, for example, Palermo, Catania, Agrigento, Toarmina, Etna Siracusa and the towns in the Baroque region are also recommended. Shopping of course in the cities mentioned but also in the Sicilia Outlet Village, 10 km away from the highway, for the real lover of designer clothes!

You can play golf on 4 top courses, near Toarmina, Agrigento, Ragusa and at Cefalu.

Again, due to the central location of your holiday accommodation, about 90% of all sights and other hotspots are a maximum of one and a half to two hours away, where you can discover Sicily from one location!

Accessibility is very good via direct flights from Amsterdam to Catania (with Transavia very cheap) or other companies.  Car rental from the Netherlands is recommended, rental stations are available directly at the airports to pick up your car immediately.
