Casa Sirena is our holiday home in Sicily near the medieval town of Cefalu.

The house stands on a mountain slope and has a great panoramic view of the surroundings of Cefalu, the coast and the Mediterranean Sea. The house and location are highly valued by our guests.

The house has a lovely semi outdoor kitchen directly adjacent to the spacious terrace in front of the house. In the summer, life in Sicily takes place outside, so also cooking and eating. Furthermore, the house has a spacious living room, a large bedroom and a newly fitted bathroom. In the living room there is a sofa bed for two extra sleeping places. There is also a detached guest house with an extra bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a private terrace.

In front of the house is a large orchard with all kinds of fruit and olive trees. The tranquility in the area is overwhelming. The house is located on the edge of the Parco delle Madonie natural park, a vast and unspoilt mountain area with many opportunities for hiking and enjoying nature or for a trip by car. You will find plenty of sun, sea and extensive sandy beaches in the vicinity of Cefalu. For the children there is a tropical swimming paradise nearby.

By car you can easily reach the green mountains of the Madonie area with its small medieval towns such as Castelbuono, Polizzi Generosa, Petralia Soprana and Sottana, Collesano and Pollina.

Due to its central location, Cefalu is a perfect base from which to visit the sights of the island and to experience Sicily in all its facets.

We are Gerrit and Teresa Pot. Since 2006 we are the proud owners of Casa Sirena, our own place in Sicily. At the first visit to the house we were 'sold' immediately, and the house also. We are constantly working to improve the house so the stay for us and our guests meet all requirements. Sicily has become our second home.

You will find plenty of sun, sea and extensive sandy beaches in the vicinity of Cefalu.

In front of the house is a large orchard of 2000 square meters with many fruit and olive trees. In almost every period there is something ripe. Lemons can be picked fresh from the tree all year round. In spring and summer cherries, apricots, apples, pears and plums. Oranges and mandarins only at the end of the year. The grapes are ripe in late summer. Then the olives are harvested from which we make our own olive oil. As far as the dry summer allows, we also try to keep a herb garden so that we can cook with fresh herbs. During your stay at Casa Sirena you can pick the ripe fruit for your own use in consultation.

Casa Sirena is located in the hamlet of Serre near Cefalu. The house stands on a mountain slope, at an altitude of about 500 meters and overlooks the surroundings of Cefalu, the coast and the Mediterranean Sea. The attached photo was taken from the center of Cefalu. The location of the house is indicated by the red circle. As the crow flies, the distance to Cefalu is at most two kilometers, but because the house is on a mountain, the distance by road is 12 kilometers.

Cefalu is a charming medieval town located on the north coast of Sicily, about 80 kilometers east of Palermo. Typical of the town is the rock, "la Rocca di Cefalu ', topped the ancient temple, dating from Diana.In the center of town stands the imposing cathedral, dating from 1200 with some very well preserved mosaics. The cathedral is a large square with a number of terraces where the day is something to see. In the bay of Cefalu, but also in the immediate vicinity there are beautiful sandy beaches and something in the mediterranean is not obvious.
