You don't have to be bored, there is plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. The apartment is centrally located, visit Castello di Calatabiano, the beautiful San Marco beach or the beach/seaside resort of Giardini Naxos, all within a radius of 5 km. Calatabiano is located on the beautiful Alcantara valley, a visit to the Alcantara Gorge and botanical garden cannot be missed. In addition to a visit to the gorge, you can do all kinds of activities here such as body rafting, canyoning, quad biking, participating in a hiking tour or water walking tour. The beautiful luxury resort of Taormina with the ancient Greek bullring is 15 km away. The city of Catania and its famous fish market can also be visited and is at a distance of 38 km, the airport Fontanarossa is 42 km. A visit to Mount Etna is easy to realize, from the apartment you can see Mount Etna, by car a visit to Mount Etna starts from the north side at Linguaglossa, 14 km from the apartment. Visit the Nebrodi nature park, take the train tour (slow train) around Mount Etna starting from Catania or Riposto (circumetnea).
Sicily is known for its good wines and tasty food. Give yourself the time to have a siesta as the southern Europeans are used to, have an extensive lunch under the awning with a nice glass of wine or treat yourself to a wine tasting which includes matching local delicacies (Gambino). You can go out in Giardini, Naxos and/or Taormina or in one of the other seaside resorts. There is plenty to see, see and experience in Sicily, all year round.
