Casa Assiere is located in Meana di Susa in Piedmont, the Italian Alps.
It is an authentic Piedmontese house, which has now been refurbished and fully equipped. The cottage can accommodate 2+2 people. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living room (see photos).
You have your own terrace, but you can also use the (large) garden with the swing, the hammock and the bbq (see photos of the garden).
The uniqueness of this place is the silence, the greenery and the view. Everywhere you look you see mountains. The garden flows into the forest. Because of a hill in front of the house, it is dead quiet. The cottage is located on a dead end road from which you can walk straight into the forest.
The house is located on the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA), a largely high alpine long-distance hiking trail in the Piedmont region.
There are a lot of beautiful mountain walks to do. We will give tips about this and have a map and a booklet with walking routes in the area.
The house is located on a mountain bike route, but you can also go up the Colle dell Finestre. Saturday 31 May the Giro dÍtalia will pass the Colle del Finestre
5 Minutes from our house is a stream with an old Roman bridge. If you walk a bit upstream, there is a pool where you can splash around (see photos).
We can also give great tips on the most delicious restaurants, all very affordable.
A direct train will take you to the centre of Turin in 50 minutes. Turin is the capital of the Piedmont region and is a wonderful blend of Italian and French influence. The squares, porticoes, streets, churches and museums seem to welcome you with open arms. Turin also has a lot to offer in the culinary field. It is the city of the aperitivo and bicerin.
