I am 60 years old, I have been in the media for a long time (Studio Brussel, Donna, Canvas) and since January 2015 I have been Head of Journalism in PXL (Hasselt), independent advisor in media. Write columns .Heb 4 children. And one woman. Love cycling, reading, music, wifi and doing terraces. All great to do in Le Marche. A place where time has stood still, full of peace and quiet, sun and swimming pool. Back to the simplicity of country life. More does not need a person.

Additional information

Drive to Bologna, Ancona. Turn right, towards Rome. Drive an hour.
Follow the road along the Tennacola River, turn right and suddenly there is a mountain village in the road, surrounded by forests and with a magnificent view over the Tenna Valley.
Voilà Monte San Martino.
Founded in the 9th century by the Franks: the city walls are still almost completely intact. The village also. The francs are now replaced by euros.
A shop (Coal), a bakery (on the market) and a restaurant (Priori, also on the market).
If you follow the path of Monte San Martino direction Sarnano you get after a good eight kilometers a sign which say: San Venanzo. Finally home, think many weary traveler, when he gives his horse a final spur.
Lascia ogni speranza, because San Venanzo is just an illusion. Four houses, a church. It has never been given a name.
You drive a little further than the landscape folds open like a sunflower in early summer. A postcard from the Middle Ages.
Immer sloping, with alternate agricultural land, forests and a single house, which lies in the palm of a hill.
Vineyards. Olive trees. Please grunting cattle. A lake.
See beyond what landlui busy with tractor and hedge shears, who respectfully decline their cap at the sight of a foreign license. No man
Through a steep cutting you finally arrive at Contrada San Venanzo 20.
Peace.
Prachtig stuwmeer, met het helderste water van Europa. Kleine strandjes, weinig volk. Overweldigende natuurpracht.
Marche got its name thanks to the German mark, which means border. Nomen est omen. So far and no further.
It is one of the most mountainous stabbing of Italy, bordered to the west by the Apennines, Umbria and Tuscany, Emiglia Romagna to the north and in the south to the Abruzzo. 10% of the area is protected area, with 180 km of Adriatic coast. The first traces of inhabitants of the region date back to the Stone Age, about 100,000 years ago. After the invasion of the Picenes in the 9th century BC started the influence of the Romans in the sixth century BC.
Until the seventies Marche region was one of the mezz adri, farmers. But since there are small companies founded in hundreds of villages and towns that make parts for just about every major industry. Thus Fabriano become the main European center for paper production. The chance that you read your Latest News on paper from the Marche is very real.
That makes all of Le Marche is currently the most prosperous region of Italy, with less than half the unemployment rate of the rest of the country.
But the farmers continued to flourish: cheese, ham, salami, olive oil and wine are the top products.
Figures.
Le Marche has 250 museums and art galleries. 150 castles and fortresses. 200 Romanesque churches, 40 monasteries and 163 sanctuaries, which are crowded. 113 theaters, of which 71 are classified. 170 medieval towers. 33 archaeological sites.
The town Caudino, in Arcevia, has one resident. San Venanzo 189.
