We are delighted to welcome you to our home in Marta (Viterbo) in Italy. From 2021 we would like to share this very beautiful place with other people and we decided to put it for rent as a holiday home. The house is divided into 2 separate living areas that are currently rented together. More than 10 people can sleep (6 downstairs, 4 upstairs) and there are 2 more sleeping places available if you count the sofa bed (upstairs). To book the entire house you have to take the ad Casa Marta - 12 persons. For this advertisement where a maximum of 6 people can sleep, only the ground floor is available. So the entire upper floor is then closed.
Each living area has its own kitchen, bathroom (downstairs 2 full-fledged ones, upstairs 1 with and 1 without shower). The terrace on the ground floor as well as on floor -1 is freely available and spacious enough to stay with a large group. There are plenty of tables and chairs. On floor -1 you have a hobby room where the garden furniture is located, but also a table football and a TV. There is Wifi in and around the house because mobile phone coverage is very minimal. The wifi is strong enough to watch Netflix on the TV downstairs, for example. Since 2023 there is a new swimming pool (8 by 4m, 1m20 deep).
The domain itself is 1.5 hectares in size and dotted with about 100 olive trees, apple, plum and a gigantic cherry tree and walnut. It is a wonderful place where you can (re)find the feeling of peace even if you are not far away from civilization. Our house is quite isolated between the fields but still very good and easily accessible. You are a good kilometer from the nearby village of Marta, where you can find everything you need. Marta is one of the villages that has nestled around Lake Bolsena and is a real attraction for tourists. You can visit the historic center with a beautiful view of the lake, take a nice walk, eat delicious food and above all soak up the real Italian atmosphere.
But Marta is only 1 village. In the opposite direction you will find Montefiascone which is also a very beautiful and historic village, located on top of the mountain with again a beautiful view of the lake. Nearby villages of Capodimonte, Tuscania and of course Viterbo and Bolsena are all well worth a visit. We also recommend going to Cività di Bagnoregio and Bomarzo (all less than half an hour's drive).
If you want to go a little further, Marta is ideally situated to take a day trip to Orvieto (45min), Orbetello by the sea (1h), Rome (1.5h) or Siena (2h). Wine lovers are a 1.5-hour drive from Montepulciano.
