Holiday house

Old fully restored house on the edge of the village, everything in Italian style. The village is located just on the edge of the Apennines. The cities of Parma and Reggio Emilia can be reached within 20 minutes by car, and it is an hour's drive to the cities of Modena and Bologna.

There are various walking and cycling routes in the immediate vicinity of the house. The house is within walking distance of the center of the village. There are several restaurants, supermarkets and bars here.

In the area surrounding San Polo d'Enza there are beautiful sights such as the castle of Matilde di Canossa, who was ruler of all of central Italy around the year 1000. There are also castles to visit such as Castello di Rossena and Castello di Torrechiara.
There is a public swimming pool in the village with various slides, etc.
For nature lovers, a small river Enza runs directly past the village. Here you can enjoy the sun and nature in peace and quiet along the rippling water. The water is crystal clear, shallow in most places and flows slowly from the mountains to Brescello (where the films of Peppone and Don Camillo were filmed) where it flows into the Po.

The region is known for the many delicacies from the area. Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Aceto balsamic vinegar of Modena.
Everything can be viewed and obtained from local producers on the farm.

This house is ideal for exploring the real Italy. You are in an area where tourists are rather rare. In the village you see 99% Italian license plates. You will be addressed in Italian, but you can get by with English or a translation program, especially if you can start with a few words of Italian.

In case of emergencies, a very good English-speaking local lady can be reached through us.

There is currently a bathroom in the house (with shower and WC) on the first floor
For more than 6 people, a shower can be used in the garage with its own heat pump boiler so that everyone can take a warm shower.

Hi
We are a Dutch couple with a preference for the Italian way of life.
We bought this house in 2021, and from the beginning of 2022 we have restored the interior and garden to good condition.
We hope that other visitors can enjoy here as much as we do.

Yours sincerely
Mirjam & Norbert Beljaars
