The typical Mediterranean garden with olive trees, pine trees and a large swimming pool is an oasis of calm and make your stay in Al Gelsomoro a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Our guests can use the nice garden and the large pool. The terrace around the pool offers plenty of space for sunbathing and moments of relaxation.

Built in the seventies and recently renovated, Al Gelsomoro's main house Casa Madre is a house in typical Mediterranean style, spacious and equipped with every comfort. Casa Madre has a spacious living room with fireplace, hand-made from typical stone from Lecce, "pietra Leccese", dining room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, two bedrooms, with a total of 7 beds. Cot is available. While staying at Casa Madre, you can use the spacious terrace next to the house and enjoy the beautiful views of the pool and garden.

Downstairs Casa Madre is Taverna, which you can rent in addition to Casa Madre, if you need more beds. Taverna is the former cellar, which was recently converted into a cozy and homely apartment built in rustic style with a comfortable kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms and offers a total space of 4 berths.

Our villa is located a stone's throw from Lecce. Lecce is also called the Florence of the South because of its art treasures and Baroque monuments, churches and buildings. The cordiality of the people, the warm atmosphere and the delicious cuisine make Lecce one of the most special treasures of Southern Italy.

For beach lovers, a stay at Al Gelsomoro offers the opportunity to visit the beautiful Adriatic coast which is located a few kilometers away and is known for the beautiful blue sea and beautiful seaside resorts from Torre dell'Orso to Otranto and from Santa Cesarea Terme to Santa Maria di Leuca. The coast on the Ionian Sea is known for its tropical beaches and crystal clear sea and is also called the Maldives of the South.

Salento and its surrounding area offer a wide choice of picturesque and culturally rich places that you can visit both on the coast and inland.

Otranto is the easternmost town on the Italian peninsula. Known for its imposing castle and Norwegian cathedral, Otranto has grown into one of the most beautiful historical and cultural sites in all of Italy.

Gallipoli, also known as the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, is the largest city on the west coast of Salento. Here too, a wonderful combination of art, history and nature can be admired.

Inland, a visit to Ostuni, also known as Città Bianca (the White City), should not be missed. Ostuni has grown enormously into a tourist attraction in recent years, thanks to its centro storico characterized by romantic streets and beautiful old white houses that reflect the sun's rays of the countryside.

Just over an hour's drive north of Lecce is Alberobello, world famous for its trulli, the cone-shaped houses where the farmers used to live with their families. A walk among the beautiful old trulli of Alberobello will transport you back in time for an unforgettable tourist experience.

Apulia and Lecce are easy to reach from the Netherlands or Germany, thanks to some direct flights. In summer 2026, you can fly to Brindisi five days a week: on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Eindhoven and on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Rotterdam/The Hague. You can also fly to Bari, about 150 km north of Lecce. Bari can be reached from Tuesday to Sunday from Amsterdam Schiphol and on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Düsseldorf Weeze.
