Villa Sea-Esta Crete with pr. swimming pool


This luxurious 'adults only' villa (ready 2020) is located just outside the built-up area of the attractive and cozy mountain village of Sellia (Plakias) at an altitude of 228m above sea level. The spacious plot of 2088m² offers maximum privacy and sensational views.

The villa has a private road with parking and is reached by a stone staircase. The total (ground floor) living area is 92m² with a spacious living room with luxurious open kitchen and 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The roof terrace with an area of also 92m² can be reached via an outside staircase.

The villa is very tasteful and attractively furnished with high quality furniture, granite tiles and fully air-conditioned, double heat and sun resistant glass, mosquito nets sliding panels and electrically operated shutters . The exterior walls are partly made of natural stone with beautiful mood lighting. There is a shady spot around the villa all day long. There are also 2 pergolas.

The 'master bedroom' with large sliding doors (both 2.90m wide) and a bed placed centrally in the bedroom is on the pool side of the villa. From this bedroom you have a beautiful view of the pool and the Libyan sea.

The illuminated 'infinity-view' swimming pool of 28m² with outdoor shower is directly accessible from the 'master bedroom' and the terrace. Adjacent to the pool is a lawn of 40m² with parasol and sunbeds. The total terrace and outdoor area on the ground floor is approximately 120m². On the roof terrace you have another 92m² at your disposal to enjoy the beautiful views, the beautiful sunset and a breathtaking starry sky.

From the entire plot you have a wonderful view over the valley, the mountains and the Libyan sea. With clear weather you can see the southernmost island of Europe 'Gavdos' which is located at a distance of 40 kilometers.

Restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, shops, ATMs and beautiful beaches can be reached within 10 minutes by car. For the more sporty, it is about half an hour's walk to the beach and about 15 minutes to the traditional mountain village of Sellia.

Villa Sea-Esta Crete is easily accessible by (rental) car at a 1.5 hour drive from the airports of Heraklion and Chania on excellent roads. You can also go to the villa by taxi or by public transport to Plakias and from there by taxi to Villa Sea-Esta Crete (3 km).

My name is John. In 2015 I actively started looking for the ultimate location to build a dream villa. After 3 years of intensive preparation and many appointments and viewings, I came across the plot in March 2018 that met all requirements (view, environment and size) in South Crete. The construction of the villa started in December 2018 and will be completed in late summer 2020. We wish you a lot of viewing pleasure and hope to see you soon!

Explanation of prices

Prices are per booking excluding deposit, administration and final cleaning costs.

The tenant receives and, if agreed, signed the tenant rental agreement and pays 30% at the time of booking, after which the booking is final. The rest of the bill must be credited to the lessor's account no later than 8 weeks before the start of the rental period.

The tenant is responsible for taking out cancellation and/or travel insurance.

Cleaning and towel and bed linen change 1x per week (depending on the number of days booked) is included with the exception of the final cleaning, which is calculated per booking and this concerns one complete cleaning at the end of the stay. Extra cleaning and/or towel/bed linen change is possible on request.

The cleaning of the swimming pool is also included in the rental price and takes place 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 7am and 9am) in the period 1 April to 31 October.
The grass is mowed in odd weeks on Friday (in the morning around 9am).

To save the environment, an average consumption of electricity of 30 kW per day (included) is used. Normally this is more than sufficient. With a consumption of more than 30 kW per day, the additional consumption will be charged at 30 cents per kW (this will be deducted from the deposit).

Additional information

Preveli Hills starts on the foothills of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and has beautiful rock formations. These bare mountains are also called paximadi, after the dry (usually brown) rusk bread. You can take beautiful walks here along old olive groves, meadows and the river. The views are breathtaking.
This beach is best known for the beautiful palm grove that starts from the beach. The emerald green water of the river slowly changes into the aquamarine blue of the sea. You can discover the forest via a footpath and take a refreshing dive in the river along the way. There is a taverna, shower and toilet on the beach. You can reach the beach by boat from Plakias or Damnoni, by car or by bus which runs up and down from Plakias a few times a day in high season.
You can reach this beach via the traditional village of Lefkogia. A road with beautiful views leads to a beautiful white sandy beach. The beach is very popular with snorkelers, divers and nature lovers. Along the beach are freshwater pools and many rock formations. Next to the parking lot is a restaurant serving traditional dishes. It is easily accessible by car, motorcycle, scooter or bicycle. But you can also walk, you take the bus and get off in Lefkogia. It is then 2 kilometers to the beach.
Plakias is a former fishing village and is located at the mouth of a stream that flows into the sea from the Kotsifo gorge. The stream divides the village in two, you can go from one part to the other via a bridge. Plakias has a long boulevard with cozy restaurants, bars and coffee corners, many with sea views. On the boulevard and side streets you will find shops, supermarkets, bakers, butchers and an organic shop. There is also a doctor's post, a dentist and 2 pharmacies.
A real family beach. It is a long stretch of sandy beach with beach beds, umbrellas, changing rooms and showers. Along the beach are restaurants with traditional dishes. The beach is easily accessible by car (plenty of parking), motorcycle, scooter or bicycle. You can also take the boat from Plakias to the beach or walk from Plakias, which takes about half an hour. Via the unpaved coastal road from Damnoni you can go to the other beaches: Amoudaki, Klissidi and Amoudi.
Plakias beach is nearly 1 kilometer long. You can walk from one side to the other via a path along the beach. From the harbor you can take the boat to the beaches in the area; Damnoni beach, Shinaria beach and Preveli beach. You can also walk from Plakias to Souda beach or Damnoni beach, which is about half an hour.
The Piso Moni Preveli monastery is isolated and high above the coast. 3 monks live here. The monastery is built around a well, with many steps and level differences. Along the 7 kilometers long road with breathtaking views you reach the old monastery Kato Monastiri. You can visit this monastery in the summer period. Not far from this old monastery is the old Venetian bridge. From here you can also take beautiful walks along old olive groves and the river.
The white church at the top or Timios Stavros can be seen everywhere in this area. It is 433 meters above sea level and the view is breathtakingly beautiful. It is best to take the walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Sunrise and sunset are at their best here.
Frangokastello is a small village and best known for the Venetian fortress that was built in 1371 as a protection against the sea pirates. Originally it was named after the Saint Nikitas. Later it was renamed Frangokastello; castle of the Franks. Bring swimming clothes along, because next to the fort is a beautiful long beach with crystal clear water. Opposite the fortress are a few restaurants serving traditional dishes.
An impressive gorge, also called the Grand canyon of Crete by the Greeks. Halfway up the gorge, a road leads to a church of Agios Nikolaos and the waterfalls. The water comes down here with considerable force all year round. Through the gorge it is possible to walk to Preveli beach. It is a challenging journey. The gorge is also popular with nature lovers and bird watchers. Beyond the dam, it is wonderful to swim in the clear waters of the river.
