In the south of Crete, near the beaches of Komos and Kalamaki, lies the quiet village of Lagolio. On the edge of this village is our spacious holiday home with swimming pool and WiFi connection. This beautifully situated Greek house was built about 250 years ago. The last hundred years, until 1960, the building was used as olive oil mill. In 2007 the house was thoroughly restored, preserving the authentic Greek style and atmosphere. The house has accommodation for four people. You can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the hills around, and further away the tops of the Psiloritis, the excavations of Festos and the Mediterranean Sea.
If you do not want to be in the 'middle of nowhere', but want to enjoy the peace and quiet, then you can not imagine a better place.

The village of Lagolio is still pure and unspoiled, and has a very special restaurant, where you can eat delicious and authentic Greek.
The house is on the outskirts of the village, high above the valley, with a splashing mountain stream in the spring. There are several terraces at the house. The large terrace with swimming pool is adjacent to the ground floor. Regularly buzzards float above the valley: breathtakingly beautiful!
When you enter the house you are immediately in the spacious kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. From the kitchen you have a magnificent view over the valley with the many olive trees. The kitchen area is separated from the living room by an authentic arch (kamara). The original millstone now serves as a coffee table.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with two comfortable single beds and air conditioning. A baby bed and high chair are available. A few steps lower you reach the ground floor, with the door to the terrace to the left and the door to the bathroom to the right. This is finished in style with Gortys marble, which is won in the area. Here is the shower, the toilet and the sink. Through another door you enter the bedroom with double bed and air conditioning. The spacious terrace runs into the very sheltered swimming pool. The terrace is equipped with comfortable loungers, sunsails and an outdoor shower. In the separate storage room you have a washing machine at your disposal.
Due to the sheltered location on the south side of the Ida Mountains, Lagolio is one of the most pleasant locations in Crete. Many excavations and the most beautiful sandy beaches of South Crete are close by.
