Our house is located in the middle of the village of Liapades and is ±50 meters from the village square with restaurants and a café. The house is about 150 years old and had not been inhabited for at least 60 years before we bought it in 2022. Together with the best contractor in the village of Vasilis, we started the renovation. Sewer, water pipes, electricity, extra window, kitchen, bathroom and a new roof, basically everything. Furthermore, we have tried to leave the original details intact as much as possible. The walls have walls of 60 cm so that it stays nice and cool in the house in the summer. We deliberately chose not to install air conditioning but ceiling fans and another separate fan.
Upstairs is a large bedroom with 2 separate 1-person beds and a small room with a 2p-bed. and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The disadvantage is that the bathroom is in the large room and can only be reached from the small room via the large room. Downstairs is the kitchen with large dining table, sitting area, washing machine and extra toilet. Kitchen has a wide range of kitchen items and appliances. Induction hob, oven, dishwasher, airfryer, kettle, hand blender. Plenty of spices and delicious olive oil. Not a coffee maker but a perculator. At the back of the house we have a large outdoor area with table and chairs and where a car can also be parked.
Streets leading to the house are narrow, so we recommend renting a small car. Renting a car is highly recommended for Corfu. A few times a day there is a bus to Corfu town and Paleokastritsa.
The beach, Rovinga beach, is ± 25 minutes walk. There are also numerous beaches on the island.

Corfu has a lot to offer both culturally and nature. I personally think the capital of Corfu is one of the most beautiful in Greece. It is clear to see that Corfu was under the influence of the Italians for 400 years. You can enjoy shopping and good food.
