Our estate Villa Rosa is located on the edge of Parnitha National Park, a protected nature reserve with beautiful hills covered with pine trees; the biotope of wild boars, foxes, deer and birds of prey. We offer an apartment here which is located on a large swimming pool.
The atmosphere is pure and it is very quiet here. This is a place to come to yourself, walk in nature, meditate in 12th century churches nearby, or read thick books by the pool. It is ideal for visiting the sights in Athens, Athens is 25 km away.
Villa Rosa is built on a piece of land of 1 hectare, with a vineyard, olive trees, fruit trees (cherries, apricots, apples, plums, quinces, figs), two vegetable gardens with eggplants, beans, tomatoes, lettuce etc., a herb garden, and lots of roses. We have three lovely dogs who roam freely outside and don't bark at night. There are also two cats on the property that sometimes lie down on a chair inside. There is a large swimming pool (7m x 14m), and a half basketball court with floodlights for evening play as well. We are a 3 minute drive from the train station, with the trains to Athens and Halkida. Dropping off or picking up our guests here is included. The train takes 25 minutes to drop you off in the center of Athens, and from there it is easy to get to the Acropolis by metro.
In addition to the many sights in Athens, there is also a lot to do in the vicinity of Villa Rosa. There are a number of beautiful beaches on the east coast of Attica, a 30-minute drive from Villa Rosa. You can rent a car on arrival at the airport or in a nearby village, so you can really enjoy the surroundings. You can make beautiful hikes in Parnitha National Park. Within cycling distance is the artificial Lake of Marathon with its long dam, and a little further the village of Marathon, where the famous battle between the Persians and the Athenians took place in the year 490 BC. 192 Athenian warriors died. The burial mound where they are buried can still be visited. There is a special archaeological museum in Marathon, and you can also visit the original starting point of the famous marathon run, from where the courier Phidippides ran 42 km to Athens to announce the victory of the battle. Other places of interest in the area are the temple of Artemis in Brauron with the interesting museum, the ancient sanctuary Amphiareion and of course cape Sounion with the temple of Poseidon.
