Then you've come to the right place. We rent out our unique holiday home, an original half-timbered farmhouse in Thuringia, located in the Unesco protected area of the Rhön. The ground floor of this lovely holiday home, the spacious garden and the accompanying orchard are your private place to enjoy during your stay. This attractive holiday home is the ideal base for nature lovers and peace seekers with many hiking opportunities.

The surrounding villages are authentic, small, quiet villages, with some beautiful half-timbered houses and a small church. Terraces, dining, culture and other fun can be found in the larger cities nearby such as Meiningen, Schmalkalden,  Erfurt, Eisenach and Weimar.

The gardens are large and have enough space to sit, read and eat in the sun and shade. There is also a terrace where you can relax. In some parts, the grass is sown with a bee and butterfly attractive flower seed. There are a lot of bugs in it, it looks beautiful but is not suitable for walking barefoot. There are several fruit trees: cherries. plums, apples and pears, even young peach trees and a walnut tree. If the fruit is ripe during your stay, there is a lot to eat.

Upon entering the holiday home, you immediately experience a feeling of home and you see how much love and attention has been paid to the thorough renovation and decoration of this special house. Everything in this family holiday home is "different than usual" and remodeled by lovers of beautiful and natural materials. As many authentic details as possible have been preserved, and the renovation has been carried out with the necessary imagination and a nod to the past. The spacious hall is split in two by a beautiful stained glass wall and therefore looks light, atmospheric and colorful. Most rooms are accessible from this hall. The rooms are stylishly and cosily furnished, with a nice wood stove in each room, the source of heat in the house. In the hall there is a large, well-stocked bookcase and a DVD cabinet. 

The well-equipped kitchen offers space for a wonderfully sturdy dining table where you can also sit generously with a larger group. There is a large fridge with freezer, a 6-burner Boretti with very spacious oven, microwave and bread maker, so everything you need for extensive cooking and baking. The living room is connected to the kitchen. An attractive space to relax in the evening with a book or enjoy a cozy movie.

The sitting room has an extra wood stove, a 2-person box bed, a bench and some easy chairs. Under the box bed is the TV (with DVD player), which is not connected to the mains, but is suitable for watching one of the many DVDs available. There are two separate bedrooms (both equipped with a wood stove) with comfortable beds. The large bathroom has a spacious shower, a sink and toilet. A second shower facility has been installed in a separate room. In addition, there is a separate second toilet and a household room with a washing machine.

The spacious garden (1400m2) is a place to enjoy and offers plenty of opportunities to sunbathe or find shade. Those seeking peace and quiet will find the ultimate relaxation under the old fruit trees in the orchard (1700m2) behind the house. The beautiful surroundings, the beautiful house and its attractive interior together provide a great feeling of well-being among the guests. It doesn't matter whether you are with a large group or just the two of you.

We, Erik and Lucia, have realized this wonderful holiday home together. A nice and cozy family home where everything is different from home. We are proud of the warm tasteful interior and the lovely large garden, where you can fully enjoy the holidays. A true paradise for peace seekers and nature lovers, with many hiking opportunities.
Suitable for a large family, but due to the 2 spacious bedrooms, each with its own shower and toilet room, also ideal for 2 couples.
