The 'Windbeutels' are a real Harz delicacy.

The Harz red-and-white cows graze in the area.

The river Bode flows through Schierke a few hundred meters from the house, on its way to Elend. You can take a beautiful walk along the Bode.

Hiking trails and views in all directions.

The Harz foreland - with a view of the Brocken - turns a beautiful yellow with rapeseed fields in May.

In the garden there is also a small garden shed where you can sit well sheltered from the wind in the sun.

Rising sun in a wintry Schierke

At the Weihnachtsmarkt in Wernigerode you can look around and enjoy the local food and drinks.

The Schierker nativity scene is located in the Kurpark and is still under development. Figures are added every winter.

The Harz steam trains run along the mountainside behind Schierke. A real experience and very photogenic.

When there is enough snow, the area changes into an extensive cross-country skiing paradise with countless routes.
