At the beginning of 2018 we, Marco and Mariëtte Hoedjes, bought the Jagdschloss Siedlinghausen. This hunting lodge was built in 1858. It consists of a front house, 3 apartments and a number of barns.
We rent the apartments on the ground floor (6 p.), the 1st (6 p.) and the 2nd floor (4 p.). You can also rent them together for up to 16 people.
We look forward to welcoming you to Jagdschloss Siedlinghausen!

In Siedlinghausen we also have a holiday home "Haus am Anger" for 12-14 people for rent.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

In 1858, the hunting lodge Siedlinghausen was built by Baron von Furstenberg. The hunting lodge is located about three kilometers from the city center at the foot of the Steinberg (713 m) on the L742 between Siedlinghausen and Schmallenberg-Rehsiepen along the river Negro. The noble house has always been important to Siedlinghausen. After the takeover of the estate around 1370 a mansion / castle was built at this location by the van Gaugreben family. Until 1657 the estate remained in the hands of the van Gaugreben family, after which it came into the hands of Caspar Christian Vogt van Elspe through inheritance. In 1810 the estate was offered for sale to the municipality, but this did not go into it. Baron Friedrich Leopold von Fürstenberg then took care of the whole and built the then hunting lodge in 1858. The main building was demolished and rebuilt in 1966. The side wing, the stables, the coach house and the ice cellar behind the house are still present, at the stables is also a weapon with the year 1858 attached.
Siedlinghausen is a quiet village, situated at an altitude of around 470 meters between the hills of the Sauerland at a distance of approximately 10 kilometers from the famous winter sports resort of Winterberg. In the center there are various shops (bakery, supermarket, drug store, banks and tourist information office), restaurants and gas pumps. The same applies to an outdoor swimming pool, indoor swimming pool and tennis courts. Siedlinghausen is located in the Negertal, the valley where the river Neger flows. It originates in the Rothaargebirge on the Klappersberg (729.9 m.) At an altitude of 722 m. The first place in the river basin of the Negro is Siedlinghausen. Another small river flows in that small village, with the remarkable name Namenlose (Lamelofe), which originates northwest of Winterberg and is the longest tributary of the Negro with a length of 8.4 km. The two rivers meet in the center of Siedlinghausen. In spring and autumn and certainly in summer there is so much to do in Siedlinghausen and the surrounding area that the following is just a small selection: the larger (tourist) places Winterberg and Willingen, in the northeast (the medieval) Brilon, to the west Schmallenberg, south Hallenberg, Frankenberg and Marburg. In Winterberg is the Bike Arena known by mountain bikers with (hence from) an approximately 1,400 km. long variety of downhill, trail and cross country routes, the Panorama Erlebnis Brücke, the Kletterwald climbing forest, a Sommerrodelbahn, a 9-hole golf course, a mini golf course, an indoor go-kart track, bowling and paintball as well as the SalzGrotte Winterberg for wellness and physical well-being . In Niedersfeld, just outside of Winterberg, there is an outdoor go-kart track. There is an 18-hole golf course in Schmallenberg. Fort Fun Abenteuerland amusement park is located in Bestwig. Water skiing is possible on the Hillebachsee. You can also go horse riding, paragliding, camping, inline skating on the Biggemeer, bat safari. In Attendorn is the Atta-Höhle, the largest coherent (drip) cave system in Germany. Walkers and cyclists also have plenty of opportunities around Winterberg. For example, the Rothaarsteig is one of the many and the longest walking route that runs through Winterberg. The 86.2 km long Winterberger Hochtour can be started directly behind the house. The Jagdschloss Siedlinghausen is even mentioned here as one of the 11 sights! In addition, there are many more signposted routes. The sporty mountain biker can enjoy one of the descent routes in Bike Park Winterberg. The Lenneroute is a beautiful cycling route that starts at the source of the Lenne and takes you through the landscape with the river. Over 140 km, the route takes you past three nature reserves; the Rothaarsteig Mountains, the Homert Nature Park and the Ebbe Mountains. In the winter there are several beautiful winter sports areas in the Siedlinghausen area. Not only Winterberg (10 km), with a total of 40 kilometers of slopes, varying from "easy to difficult", but also the Altastenberg ski area (7 km) with 7 pistes is easy to drive to and in addition Willingen with another 18 kilometers of pistes about 28 kilometers away worth a winter sports visit. Winterberg Located in North Rhine-Westphalia at an altitude of 670 meters, this lies with many Dutch people because of the winter sports, famous holiday resort of Winterberg. But Winterberg is not only a great place to celebrate your holiday in winter. It is also a nice place in the summer. The center with the pleasant market square where restaurants, cafes and shops form the heart of the town ends in a long shopping street. There is also a supermarket in the center and just outside the center you will find a gas station, hardware store and a McDonalds. In the winter, Winterberg is ideal for winter sports a short distance from the Netherlands, the relatively good snow reliability (Winterberg has many snow cannons) offer the perfect opportunity for a (short) winter sports holiday. You can reach the place of destination by car within two hours from the Dutch border. Winterberg has 34 ski runs spread over 7 mountains and a number of them are also lit and can therefore also be skied in the evening. Around the 841 meter high Kahler Asten is a beautiful cross-country ski area with no less than 120 km of trails. The Après-ski in Winterberg is of course well taken care of.
