use as a parsonage
The former rectory of Malberg is on a plateau on the outskirts of the historic village of Malberg. It is surrounded by landscaped gardens, adjacent to the river Kyll. The parsonage was built to a design by the prominent architect Ernst Brand from Trier. The command has been issued by the then parish priest Malberg for this purpose initially refused permission by the bishop of Trier. He found the proposed vicarage by its size and imposing appearance is not appropriate as at the foot of the village of Malberg. Malberg had that time with its narrow cobbled streets have an almost medieval look.
Pastor Heidger, however, was not dissuaded from his plans and the designs of the architect under the arm raised to Berlin to be there in person to get permission from the highest authorities. In 1914 it was resurrected thus to this day very iconic mansion. The garden of the house was impressive in 1915, enclosed by a wall, facing the street is accessible through a gate surmounted by a striking statue of Mary.

Heidger priest Malberg gave great prominence. He was the creator of the 'William Tell play after the first world war in the open air on the river Kyll under his direction were performed. Many consecutive years they were playing by the inhabitants of the village for public increased. They were great performances by which almost all villagers participated and was a part of the livestock. Only in the year 1922, more than 80,000 people, who flocked from all over Germany to watch the game. The train station in Kyllburg is partly built to the annual influx of visitors to process. Today, the name reminds Tell Road and the nickname of the music group still to this glorious period lasted until the thirties.

The priest lived in the big house with two housekeepers. One housekeeper was responsible in particular for the interior lots and the other housekeeper especially for the maintenance of the large vegetable garden and the sunny flower garden. Villagers were given the house hardly be seen from the inside. Only the entrance hall and reception room where they were to indicate a birth or a wedding or funeral came to discuss. For the priest in those days there was much awe. Until this day, villagers know that they are stories as a child in the Kyll could swim like the priest took his afternoon nap.
Pastors who have inhabited the parish successively from 1914 to 1984:
1907 - 1937
1937 - 1963
1963 - 1970

Multiple Features
The decline of the population and the secularisation of the local church community Malberg smaller. This is merged with a number of neighboring parishes. Partly because the building is so large, in Malberg parsonage loses its function as a main residence for the priest. The church community Malberg decision as an owner to rent the parish partly and partly to continue to use as a community room and choir rehearsals. The house is divided into apartments and occupied by several tenants, including the former housekeeper of the priest. In 1992 the house is partly renovated and adapted for use by different tenants. Because the rental and maintenance increasingly difficult start pressing the shoulders of a small group of members of the church, the church in 2003, eventually decide to sell the parsonage. The villagers put down after some internal struggle with this decision, albeit with very mixed feelings. Many fear that the presbytery will fall into the wrong hands.

2004-present

use as a luxury holiday
In early 2004, buying the family van Oorschot from Netherlands (Roden) to the rectory to use it for personal use: as your own holiday and there periodic seminars. With permission of the bishop of Trier! Marjon van Oorschot and Andre are passionate walkers and are both active as a consultant. Because of its location in the wooded area and its allure lends itself perfectly to the presbytery for both purposes. The house is in format in its original state, the sanitary expanded and adapted to the current time. The large attic and basement are respectively made suitable for sleep and rest. The interior gives extra luster to the stately home. During an open day watching the villagers from their eyes.

The idea of ??the house as well as occasional holiday and conference center with other guests appears to be a hit. This is great gusto. The Old Rectory appears to be very popular with families and friends who want to stay together a fun weekend or a holiday week in the Eifel want to spend. The new feature of the presbytery brings back life in the village of Malberg, which threatened to fall asleep. If the pestle Malberg in 2010 in the paint and the scaffolding comes, these two iconic buildings Malberg again on the map. Both buildings are under Denkmalschutz (monument Care). That also applies to the core of the village of Malberg, that it has everything to its original glamor back.

ROOM4MOOR
The pleasure that others who have a residence in an old and stately building as the Old Rectory for Marjon and Andre the inspiration to continue on this path. Meanwhile, they have a former mayoral residence similarly converted into luxury holiday or conference (House Tergast). An art nouveau house in Drenthe (NL) that is similar in size and appearance be compared with the Old Rectory. The village of Malberg give them an extra boost. Since they have the neighboring house of the Old Rectory purchased: total impoverished former village hotel will undergo a metamorphosis and is transformed into luxury accommodation for families and groups: Landhaus Waldeifel.
There is a collegial cooperation has developed with other homeowners who have similar nice big old houses for rent. These historic buildings are now using a specially developed by Marjon website to rent as holiday 5 stars (www.room4moor.nl). The common feature of all these houses is not only that she and allure, but the owners also with heart and soul to work for their guests a wonderful stay. And that is what our ultimate goal is!
