Peace, beautiful nature and plenty of space less than 600 km from Utrecht! An old train station that, while retaining that authentic atmosphere of the past, has been converted into a wonderful holiday home with all the comforts of today.
With 140 m2, it is spacious, detached, with a large garden (1750 m2) and a terrace spanning the entire width of the 23-meter-wide building. That terrace is of course the old platform and overlooks the guardhouse on the other side of the (no longer existing) track. You do not have to worry about being woken up by the train, which has not been running since 1952!
The Agricultural Cooperative is located about 250 meters away, which normally does not cause any inconvenience, but is busy during the harvest time (for grain August, for maize October).
You enter the entrance hall, which is actually still in its original state, with the beautiful old advertising posters, enamelled signs and the counters. However, space has been made for a work table and the television corner with a flat screen and DVD player. There are many DVDs and a nice library.
The large living room with fireplace has a sitting area with lounge sofa and a dining area with space for 8 people. The spacious kitchen has all modern conveniences and has been completely renovated, as is the shower. The two bedrooms are to the left of the station, the first adjacent to the living room, the second adjacent to the entrance hall. They are furnished with a double bed, a linen closet and washing facilities. The sofa by the television can be converted into a double sofa bed.
There is a second terrace behind the guardhouse and adjacent to the forest edge. This sheltered spot with a pergola has a fixed barbecue and a large dining table.
