Peace, beautiful nature and plenty of space less than 600km from Utrecht! An old train station that, while retaining that authentic atmosphere of the past, has been converted into a wonderful holiday home with all the comforts of today.

With 140 m2 it is spacious, detached, with a large garden (1750 m2) and a terrace over the entire width of the 23 meter wide building. That terrace is of course the old platform and overlooks the guardhouse on the other side of the (no longer existing) railway. You don't have to worry about being woken up by the train, it hasn't been running since 1952!

The Agricultural Cooperative is located about 250 meters away, which normally does not cause any nuisance, but during harvest time (unpredictable when exactly) there is activity and there may be nuisance.

You enter the entrance hall which is actually still completely in its original state, with the beautiful old advertising posters, enamelled signs and the ticket offices. However, space has been made for a work table and the television corner with flat screen and DVD player. There are many DVDs available and there is a nice library.

The large living room with fireplace has a sitting area with lounge sofa and a dining area with space for 8 people. The spacious kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences and has been completely renovated, as is the shower. The two bedrooms are located on the left side of the station, the first adjacent to the living room, with doors to the garden, the second adjacent to the entrance hall. They are furnished with a double bed, a linen closet and laundry facilities. The sofa by the television can be folded out into a double sofa bed.

There is a second terrace that is located behind the guardhouse and borders the edge of the forest. This sheltered spot with pergola has a fixed barbecue and a large dining table.

When you rent the station downstairs, the first floor remains empty, which guarantees all space and privacy. 

There is no smoking in and around the station.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

The gîte is rented per week. A week lasts from Saturday afternoon 15.00 hours to the following Saturday morning 10.00 hours. After arrival, the manager (Cees) of the station  will visit you to inform you further about the use of the station.
N.B. The entire station is also available for 8-10 people on request. Then the house of the Chef de Gare above it is added. This apartment is not rented separately, it is possible that it is used by the owner.

Monthureux sur Saone is located in the Vosges Mountains, on the border of the departments of Haute Saône Haute Marne. An area also known as the Tuscany of France is called by her. Hills, fields and forests The Vosges is more than 42% mostly mixed deciduous and coniferous production forests with both, the most forested region of France. Ecotourism is an increasingly important factor in this area.

The area is great for hiking and biking. For touring cyclists and cyclists there is wonderful asphalt, mountain bikers many paths and hills and far away mountains. For cyclists and walkers trails. There is a riding school 4 km away.

The Vosges mountains form the border with Alsace and are within 3 minutes drive away. 'S winter, you can ski (Gerardmer and La Bresse-Honeck, both at 85 km are pretty snow-sure pistes and 59 lifts up to 1250 m altitude) and' s-summer walk or cycle. There are two national parks in the mountains with peaks up to 2400 meters (Le Grand Ballon).

For golfers there is the famous golf course in the Ermitage sources town of Vittel. This golf course was opened in 1905, is located 25 km from the station. It is now part of Club Med, but is also open to other guests. Despite the fact that the job is counted among the most beautiful in France, it is never really crowded.

There are three courses: the 18-hole course Mont Saint Jean (6236 meters par 72), a hilly course. • The 18-hole course "Peulin" (6100 yards par 72), a wooded course and 9-hole Compact Course for which CFP is needed.
There are several restaurants in the area. From simple to luxurious. The Vosges and Haute Saône no wine regions. On a single vineyard after you are reliant on the neighbors: Alsace, Burgundy and Champagne. But these are all three two-hour drive away and so are a great day trip to visit.

The capital of the Vosges, Epinal is 50 km. easy to drive and well worth it. This is also true even for the cities Langres (75 km), Nancy (90 km.) And Dijon (120 km.).

Vide grenier, Briq a brac, foire d'occassion or how the flea market is called, it is a familiar part of French culture and is also much appreciated in particular Dutch. In the summer months there every weekend a close.
