Something very special! An old train station that, while maintaining the authentic atmosphere of the past, has been converted into a lovely holiday home with all the comforts of now.
It is spread over 2 floors of 140 m2 in size. Both the ground floor and the upper floor have a separate entrance and there is a connecting door that can be closed.
The property is detached, with a large garden (1750 m2) and a terrace across the width of the 23 meter wide property. That terrace is of course the old platform and overlooks the guardhouse across the road (no longer existing). You do not have to be afraid of being woken by the train, who has not been driving since 1952! At a distance of 250 meters, the Agriculture Co-operative is located, which normally does not cause any nuisance, but in the harvest time (before August, for May of October) it has a lot of activity.
You enter the entrance hall, which is still in its original state, with the beautiful old advertising posters, enamelled signs and the desks. However, there is space for a work table and the television corner with flat screen and DVD player. There are also a lot of DVDs and there is a nice library.
The large living room with fireplace has a nice lounge area with lounge area and a dining area with seating for 8 people. The spacious kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences and the shower is fully renovated. The two bedrooms are located on the left side of the station, the first adjacent to the living room, the second adjacent to the entrance hall. They are furnished with a double bed, a linen closet and laundry facilities. The sofa at the TV can be folded into a double sofa bed.
There is another terrace next to the guardhouse and adjacent to the forest edge. This sheltered place with pergola has a solid barbecue and a large dining table.
The apartment on the first floor was formerly the home of the Chef de Gare and his family. It has its own entrance and offers 3 bedrooms for up to 8 people.
Also here is a spacious living room, attractively furnished and with a fantastic view over the Saône valley, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and fridge and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub.
The unique property with its palpable culture and history. The clean air, the peace, the space and the beautiful nature. The charm and simplicity of the 'campaign', the French farmland. That made us want this adventure. But the fact that the nicest French now seems to live just in this region makes us feel so at home. We would love to share this hospitality: Bienvenue sur les Vosges, welcome to l'Ancienne Gare! Christine
