House Description:
It is a compact gîte as a house with a cozy and simple cosiness, where authentic elements have been preserved.
Breathtaking view over the valley of the river Durance. Rural location on a 90 meter high rock formation, so for safety reasons not suitable for families with small children (up to 9 years). The terrace is in the lee of the Mistral. The provincial road (D973) runs through the valley.
At 50 meters from the house is a large fenced private swimming pool (1.80 m deep everywhere, not heated) with terrace and double guest house.
On the private fenced grounds of one and a half hectares there is a 17th century dovecote and old terraces, overgrown with shady pines and oaks with undergrowth of thyme and rosemary. It is pure nature and with absolute privacy a unique location.
This is a place and a house for real enthusiasts and therefore not suitable for those who expect great luxury and solid uniformity. That is why we do not ask the top price for rent. We want tenants who appreciate the original character of the whole as much as we do.
The house can be reached via a gate with a code and a dirt road (right of way) of about 300 meters.
The typical Provencal village of Lauris is 2 km away with 2 bakeries, pizzeria and several restaurants. On Mondays there is a market with fresh fish from Marseille. There are tennis courts in the village . A village further, in the famous village of Lourmarin, there is a market every Friday morning. The Golf Pont Royal is about half an hour away.
Given the size of the house and the facilities, it can accommodate up to 4 people. For example, the master bedroom for 2 people in the main house is spacious. The guest bedroom in the main house (bunk bed with 1 person upstairs and French bed downstairs) and the bedroom for 2 people in the guest house by the pool are limited in space.
