On arrival there are 2 gates each with a key box for gate and cottage. The right gate belongs to La Lumière. The left one at Le Rêve. Directly behind the fence is a parking lot.
The house is cozy and bright. The sun can enter from any direction. On three sides the house is connected to the outside and linked to terraces. This means that there is always a shady spot or sun spot to look for. The kitchen is separate and open at the same time so that you can cook in good contact with the rest of the group. It is a fully fitted kitchen, complete with dishwasher. There is also a cozy sitting area with two sofas with armchairs and a spacious dining area. A wood stove has also been placed here. Around the house there are 3 sheltered terraces, east, south and west oriented, so you can always look for the sun. There is also a cozy sitting area with two sofas and a spacious dining area. A wood stove has also been placed here.
On the upper floor are 3 separate bedrooms: a master bedroom, a single bedroom and a bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom is equipped with a sink, shower and separate bath. In addition, there is an extra toilet and washing machine. The silence at night is beneficial!
Furthermore, the house has been prepared for heating with solar cells and will soon be equipped with that. The house is well insulated.
The nature in the area is overwhelming. The cottage is located 5 km from the Bay of the Somme, a beautiful protected natural area. The area is strongly reminiscent of our mudflats: at low tide an endless plain. The bay is located on 2 intersecting migration routes of birds, with a wealth of species. The Parque de Marquenterre bird sanctuary is located against the bay and offers beautiful walks.
There are also 'normal' beaches to jump into the sea or surf. Then there are chalk cliffs 35 km away, where you can collect your own mussels and serve them at home in the evening.
Due to the flat location of this part of France (Picardy), cycling is very attractive. Also through the cycle paths where the cycling node app can be used.
Finally, there are 2 attractive towns on the bay: Le Crotoy at 5 km and on the other side of the bay Valerie-sur-Somme. Very worthwhile. In both towns it can be pleasantly busy with tourists. Once back home in Favières, there is the village tranquility of the French countryside. Rue (4 km) is fine for daily shopping, bakeries, a weekly market and a train station. (in 2 hours in Paris)
