The cottage is situated in the commune of Prunet et Belpuig in the foothills of the Pyrénées, just over one from the Mediterranean beaches, 50 mins. from Perpignan and one hour from the Spanish order. The detached farm cottage is part of a traditional Catalan mas, with the cottage orientated for maximum independence and privacy. The mas is set approximately two and a half kms. along a quiet, rough country track in 55 hectares of mixed woodland which leads down to a stream.
The kitchen opens onto a terrace with stunning views of Mt. Canigou and the surrounding countryside, and the swimming pool on a lower terrace.
The immediate area, as well as the whole region, is perfect for walking, from gentle strolls to hill walks. There are lots of places to visit, from the local 12 th. century chapel and ruined chateaufort, the Prieuré de Serrabonne and Cathar castles, markets, art galleries, local fêtes and music festivals. There is a bakery/grocery store, restaurant and bar and part time post office in the neighbouring village of St. Marsal, approximately 15 mins. by car.
