The attractive house is a former miller's house from 1827 that is fully equipped.

The entrance, bathroom, kitchen, dining room and storage room are located on the ground floor.
The ground floor has a tiled floor with underfloor heating.

On the first floor are 3 bedrooms. The rear part (the former grain loft) is now the living room and offers a view of the nearby lake. The attic floor has a fourth bedroom. In the dining room and living room there are wood stoves that provide extra heat on colder days.

The house has a traditional construction, with a beamed ceiling on which the floor of the first floor is also located. That may be a bit noisy, but it is not a problem if you are sitting outside or in the living room when the children have already gone to bed. There is a smart TV with DVD player in the living room.

Outside there are two terraces, one with a fixed barbecue and the other with an outdoor stove. In the downstairs garden there is a trampoline for children.

We have converted Malguett into a holiday home with a lot of love (and sweat). Every school holiday we went to the house with the children to explore the area in addition to doing odd jobs.
We still like to come there to enjoy nature and tranquility, but we also like to visit other holiday countries. We think it is a 'shame' if the house in the beautiful spot Malguette remains unused. That is why Malguette can also be rented out and hope that others can appreciate it just as much!

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

High season: July & August from 950 euros up to 6 people, for the 7th and 8th person 50 euros p.p. per week extra.
Mid-season: May, June & September from 700 euros up to 6 people, for the 7th and 8th person 50 euros p.p. per week extra.

Our rental price includes final cleaning, beds made on arrival, two towels per person and dishwashing equipment.

If, for whatever reason, the tenant cannot, does not want to or will not accept the leased property on the agreed date, he must immediately notify the landlord. A telephone notification of this must always be confirmed in writing or by emailto landlord.

If the tenant cancels the agreement in the period up to 6 weeks before the start date of the rental period, he will continue to owe 30% of the rent; in case of cancellation up to 4 weeks 40% and from 2 weeks to the start date of the rental period 50%. If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, he will continue to owe the full rent.

A key will be ready on arrival and if desired you will be personally welcomed.
The shutters are open, the house is light and warm and the beds are made.
Also included is the linen package with two towels, kitchen linen and a bath mat for each guest.
Final cleaning is included. We do ask you to leave the house broom clean, to put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and to turn them on when you leave. Also before departure, please dispose of the garbage and empty bottles yourself.

In the house is a folder with information about sights, cycling and walking routes in the area.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

The area is ideally suited for people who love peace and space and / or an active holiday. The Combrailles has a varied landscape with many forests, winding rivers and streams, small villages, castles and many farms. The river Sioule is near the house and has beautiful 'gorges' where you can enjoy canoeing in good weather. Many walking and cycling routes have been set out in the area. There are also many opportunities for horse riding, swimming and fishing in one of the many lakes. In the immediate vicinity, other attractions are worth a visit, for example: Chateau Rocher, Chateau de Chouvigny, thermal resort of Vichy, Vulcania (a theme park about vulcanism) and of course the capital of the Auvergne: Clermont Ferrand. In neighboring towns there are several restaurants that also serve local dishes. A typical French cheese from the region is of course the Blue d'Auvergne, but the other, lesser-known cheeses are also delicious with a glass of St. Pourcain, the local wine. At the local markets you can also buy typical regional products, such as different types of oils, sausages, honey, etc. The house is located on the edge of the 'Parc Régional Naturel des Volcans d'Auvergne' with about 80 volcanoes including the Puy de Dome.
