Chalet Les Blancs – Ecological dream house with panoramic views
Welcome to Chalet Les Blancs! A place where the mountains are always close by, where inside and outside merge and where peace, space and adventure come together.
In 2014 we built our ecological chalet here with a lot of love and care, in a unique location with a breathtaking unobstructed view over the Guilkloof and the surrounding mountains.
With no less than 300 days of sunshine a year, this is a wonderful place in all seasons! The house is built with natural materials, excellently insulated and cleverly designed. In the summer, the bright sun stays outside, while the low winter sun shines deep into the living room and heats the house naturally.
Thanks to the large windows, the inside and outside merge almost seamlessly. Nature is always close by. Although there are neighbors, you enjoy a completely unobstructed view. Even without leaving the house, you can enjoy it to the fullest!
Space to enjoy together
Chalet Les Blancs is light, attractive and very spacious and can accommodate up to 10 people. Ideal for families or holidays with friends.
The spacious living room with open kitchen forms the cozy heart of the house. The large dining table seats 10 people, perfect for long dinners and cozy evenings. There are several comfortable sofas and chairs, so everyone can find their own nice spot.
For the colder days there is a cozy pellet stove. The pellets are provided, so you can enjoy the warmth after a day in the mountains.
Sleep and relax
The chalet has four spacious bedrooms:
Two bedrooms of over 30 m².
Two bedrooms of about 16 m².
One double bed (160 x 200 cm).
One bunk bed in the main bedroom downstairs.
Six single beds that can be joined together for couples to form double beds.
There are two bathrooms, one of which is directly adjacent to a bedroom, and two separate toilets.
We ask our guests to bring their own bed linen; Bed linen rental costs 25€ per person. Towels and kitchen linen are provided.
Outdoor living with fantastic views
Both at the front and back of the chalet you will find a large terrace. Great for breakfast outside, extensive food, barbecuing or just enjoying the sun, the fresh mountain air and the impressive view.
And the best part? From the front door you can walk directly into nature!
The walks start at the front door
Chalet Les Blancs is located in a place that is loved even by locals as a starting point for hikes. Not surprising, because the location is beautiful and the sun shines here almost all day.
The chalet is located between two beautiful nature reserves: the Parc naturel régional du Queyras and the Parc national des Écrins.
A true paradise for hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, climbers, kayakers, rafters and other mountain lovers.
Within walking distance is the beautiful Guil River, known for its spectacular gorge and whitewater. The historic fortified town of Mont-Dauphin, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is also within walking distance and is definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful in all seasons
Every season has its own charm here!
In spring, nature awakens and the mountains turn fresh green. Summer offers endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, climbing, swimming and white water sports.
In autumn you can enjoy beautiful colors, clear skies and wonderful tranquility.
And in winter, the area changes into a fairytale snowy landscape. There are several ski resorts about a 30-minute drive away, including Risoul and Vars. Ideal for an active winter sports holiday, while enjoying the peace and warmth of the chalet at home.
Cozy Guillestre nearby
The charming mountain town of Guillestre is a short distance away. Here you will find cozy terraces, restaurants, shops, a market and everything for your daily shopping.

A house with a story
After 25 years of living and working in these beautiful mountains, we have created a place here that suits us completely: natural, light, spacious and connected to the environment.
Maarten worked as a rafting guide on the Guil for 20 years and Ellen gave yoga classes and Ayurvedic massages in the ski area. We know the area through and through and are happy to share our favorite places and tips.
We have now started a new adventure with a campsite in the heart of France. We now like to share our beloved home in the Alps with others.
