The complete house. A photo from 1904. The right half is mine. My old neighbor lives in the left half. In the middle part of the building there was a smithy. The right half of that forge is now your apartment.

The Lac du Der in January. From October to February a large part of this artificial lake is dry. From spring it is filled with water de Marne to keep the water level in Paris and surroundings safe.

One of the militarie cemeteries at Verdun, where during the First World War a years-long battle took place. From a horrible beauty and raked cleanliness. Taken from the Ossuaire, a monument where countless remains of unknown soldiers have their final resting place.
One of the many medieval half-timbered churches that the region is rich in. This is the church of Puellemontier, about 2 kilometers away from your house.
The ruin of the Abbey of Trois Fontaines. Founded around 1130 by the Cistercian monk / abbot Bernard. He would now be compared to Mandela. They have mined large parts of North-East France. The abbey was destroyed during the French revolution.

Very nice and pleasant walking and cycling area. The walking routes to Santiago de Compostela and Canterbury<->Rome are nearby.
