It has a small private swimming pool and a covered terrace which offers a pleasant shade during the hot summers.
From the garden you step straight onto a footpath from where you can walk for hours without meeting anyone. In spring you may find interesting orchids along the trail.
The Sunday market in Montcuq is one of the largest in the region and during the summer months there is also a smaller market on Thursday mornings with all the local produce. For your other shopping you can visit the village shops or the supermarket.
Sights
There are numerous possibilities for excursions in the region. Nearby is the beautiful village of Lauzerte (9km) which offers a magnificent view point. Cahors (25 km), the capital of the Lot, is a typically southern town with beautiful architecture. It is situated on the river Lot and is the center of the famous Cahors wine region. From there you can visit several picturesque villages by boat. 30 km to the south you will find Moissac with its interesting cloister. The caves of Pech-Merle and Le Gouffre de Padirac are also definitely worth a visit.
