The House
From early spring to autumn, this beautiful 2-6 person country house in the French countryside offers all the comforts to really enjoy. Whether as a couple, with another couple or with a large family, the house embraces you and gives you the space and cosiness to live like God in France. The grounds of more than 5,000m2 are in a quiet location, fully fenced and can be closed off by means of an entrance gate, so that you experience complete privacy. It is possible to stay with 8 people, but only on request.
Layout
The imposing old staircase at the front of the house takes you to the boulet from where you look out over the meadows. Through the front door you enter the living kitchen, the heart of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped including a 5-burner gas stove with 2 ovens, a refrigerator and a dishwasher.
The wooden table with comfortable chairs offers space for a delicious lunch or dinner. Furthermore, the kitchen has a beautiful fireplace with wood stove.
Adjacent to the kitchen you will find the living room where you can imagine yourself in old France. Here you will find a large fireplace surrounded by the original imposing cupboards, the dark red sofa and old paintings. The living room has a television with a Chromecast connection.
The bedrooms are located in all corners of the house and are tastefully and lovingly furnished. More information per bedroom can be found under 'layout'.
All rooms are cool due to the thick stone walls and the shutters that can be closed for the night.
After a wonderful night's sleep, wake up in one of the rooms and open the shutters with a view of the French countryside. Have breakfast with the two of you on the boulet or with a larger group at the picnic table between the sheds where the geese used to roam.
Outside
The outdoor life is just as important as the indoor life in France and for this purpose a tastefully decorated area at the rear of the house has a swimming pool (4x9.5 mtr with stairs and depth varying from 1-2 mtr), sunbeds, parasols, outdoor shower, play barn with toilet and many seats and relaxation areas. You will also find a spacious covered terrace with an outdoor kitchen and from where you have a fantastic view of the hills around the house.
Area
The house is hidden between meadows, forest and vast vineyards. The various historic villages such as Puy-l'Évêque and Tournon d'Agnais breathe the authentic French atmosphere, with small markets and Marchés Gourmandes. For small groceries and baguettes you can go to the supermarket in the village, a 5-minute drive away. For extensive shopping, you can drive to the town of Montayral in just ten minutes. Shopping can be done in cities such as Agen or Villeneuve-sur-Lot within a maximum 45-minute drive.
The nearest airports are Bergerac Airport, approximately 1 hour away (flights from Rotterdam Airport) or Toulouse, approximately 1.5 hours away (flights from Schiphol).
There is free unlimited WiFi via fiber optic available in the house. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for technical malfunctions or speed problems.
