The house
From early spring to autumn, this beautiful 2-6 person country house in the French countryside offers all the comforts to really enjoy. Whether it is as a couple, with another couple or with a large family, the house embraces you and gives you the space and coziness to live like God in France. The terrain of more than 5,000m2 is quietly located, fully fenced and can be closed off by an entrance gate so that you experience complete privacy. Accommodation with 8 people is possible, but only on request.
Classification
The imposing old staircase at the front of the house takes you to the boulet from where you look out over the meadows. Through the front door you enter the kitchen, the heart of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped including a 5-burner gas stove with 2 ovens, a refrigerator and a dishwasher.
The wooden table with comfortable chairs offers space for a delicious lunch or dinner. Furthermore, the kitchen has a beautiful fireplace with wood stove.
Adjacent to the kitchen you will find the living room where you imagine yourself in old France. Here you will find a large fireplace surrounded by the original imposing cabinets, the dark red sofa and old paintings. The living room has a television with a Chromecast connection.
The bedrooms are located in all corners of the house and are tastefully and lovingly decorated. More information per bedroom can be found under 'layout'.
All rooms are cool due to the thick stone walls and the shutters that can be closed for the night.
After a good night's sleep, wake up in one of the rooms and open the shutters overlooking the French countryside. Breakfast with the two of you on the boulet or with a larger group at the picnic table between the sheds where the geese used to roam.
Outside
Outdoor living is certainly just as important as indoor living in France and for this purpose there is a site at the rear of the house tastefully furnished with swimming pool (4x9.5 meters with stairs and depth varying from 1-2 meters, heating is possible for a fee, but only on request), sunbeds, umbrellas, outdoor shower, play barn with toilet and many seating areas and relaxation areas. You will also find a spacious covered terrace from where you have a fantastic view of the hills around the house.
The area
The house is hidden between meadows, forest and vast vineyards. The various historic villages such as Puy-l'Évêque and Tournon d'Agnais exude the authentic French atmosphere, with small markets and Marchés Gourmandes. For small groceries and baguettes you can go to the supermarket in the village 5 minutes drive away. For extensive shopping, you can drive to the town of Montayral in just ten minutes. Shopping is available in cities such as Agen or Villeneuve-sur-Lot at a maximum of 45 minutes' drive.
The nearest airports are Bergerac Airport, about 1 hour's drive (flights from Rotterdam Airport) or Toulouse, about 1.5 hours' drive (flights from Schiphol).
