CASA RATAFIA is just another word for HOLIDAY and stands for enjoying in peace under the sun of the  French south.  A beautiful spacious chalet, all comfort, a beautiful swimming pool, ... in a quiet and pleasant holiday park in a southern environment.

When building our house, the first owner stipulated that the bedrooms would be more spacious than the standard, and that the terrace on the side would be just as spacious as the large balcony terrace at the front.  This allows you to enjoy the sun in the morning at breakfast on one terrace, And the sun is  a guest on the balcony terrace from noon until well into the evening.  The covering of this terrace is  certainly an asset of this house in the early and late season.  We provide complete garden furniture on both terraces  .

A wooden log cabin house is sustainable, and has some special features.  Even at outside temperatures of + 40°C during the day, this house cools down enough to sleep well without air conditioning.  In the early and late season, the small electric auxiliary heaters are sufficient if there is a chill in the morning or evening.   The house has a pleasant, warm appearance due to the wood that is visible up to the ridge of the roof in both the living and sleeping areas.    The openness of the timber construction gives  breathing space, brings peace and cosiness. Both bedrooms are almost the same size.  For the master bedroom we chose a king-size bed of  180cm X 200cm with 2 separate mattresses.  In the other bedroom there are 2 separate single beds of 90cm x 200cm.  We provide good mattresses and fine bedding.  Beds made are included in the price. The bathroom is spacious.  A walk-in shower with the comfort of Grohe provides bathing pleasure.  A sink and storage space for your towels etc. completes this space.  A hairdryer is provided.   The toilet can be found in a separate room, just next to the bathroom.

There is a spacious fridge with small freezer, a practical dishwasher and a multi-functional oven  (microwave, grill, combination).  There is a regular coffee maker and a dolce gusto machine (with capsules).  In the cupboards and drawers you will find everything you need to satisfy even  a demanding hobby chef.

The holiday park is very child-friendly with a playground for football, volleyball, an enclosed tennis court and many playground equipment, including a safe trampoline.  The large swimming pool is open from 1 June to mid-September and has a separate children's pool.  Paralsols and sunbeds are provided here.  The snack bar is only open in high season for a snack and drink with a view of the swimming pool.

Because we live about 7 km from the holiday park, it is easier for us to be flexible with arrival and departure times.  You call half an hour before you arrive to confirm the time, and we are quickly on site.  The same applies to unexpected problems - we are quickly there to find a solution.  

And yes, as lovers of French gastronomy and fine wines, we are happy to share our experiences and knowledge of the local restaurants and wine tastings in the many chateaus in the area.  Do you have problems with the French language?  We can also lend a hand there if necessary. 

It is important that our guests can enjoy their holiday and enjoy it for a long time.... That's what we do it for!

Outside the school holidays, the Village du soleil park is an oasis of peace.  No motorways or industry in the area, but a lot of nature, birds, deer,... Countless possibilities for hikers, cyclists,...   For those who like  it, we offer the possibility to rent per month, or longer, in the early and late season for a reasonable price.  The way in which the Finnish chalets are built allows that in terms of space and comfort there is no problem at all year round to live pleasantly in Village du soleil in Mauroux.
