On a little road with only local traffic is Maison d'Abou on a site of nearly 8000 m2, fully enclosed with fencing and electrically operated gates. Just outside the quaint, largely restored medieval village of Goujounac (Lot 46 Midi-Pyrenees). The villa was built in 2014 facing east and equipped with comfortable furniture. The region is sparsely populated, nature is diverse and mostly untouched. Forests, hills and meadows alternate. It's beautiful hiking and beautiful cycling (cycling not for untrained). The Lot is a fifteen minute drive away and there are many attractions, from ancient fortified towns to wine chateaus and medieval castles, and there is water fun in one of the nearby lakes or recreation on the river
Lot and Dordogne.
We have instead of a swimming pool selected for a heated swim spa, because this can be used throughout the year. On the one hand you can, enjoying the views, enjoy the spa benefits and on the other side are two jets, where you can swim against the current. There is an outdoor terrace with sun loungers and a double sauna.
Upon entering the villa you find yourself in the hallway that provides access to the large and high living and dining room with half open kitchen with all appliances. The other side of the
hall goes to the master bedroom with 2 X 90 by 210cm box springs, a separate toilet, bathroom with shower and double sink and a toilet, and a laundry room. The doors are 90cm wide and level surfaces. There are 5 double doors to the three meter wide covered porch, which spans the entire length and width of the house. Even if it rains you can comfortably sit outside!
A staircase takes you upstairs to the mezzanine with a seat and a small library. The stairs lead down into a spacious multipurpose hall, where a large bedroom (bed 180x200 two seperate mattresses on adjustable bed frames), a living room (sofa bed 140x190) with kitchen, toilet and bathroom with shower and double sink. From the living room you step through the double doors on to the spa terrace. Everywhere is the same stone floor (with underfloor heating), also on the terraces.
The large living-dining room has comfortable sofas and chairs, a smart TV with satellite connection for many European channels including all the Dutch, with Wi-Fi internet throughout the house, also on the terraces and in the spa.
There is table tennis, jeu de boule balls and a badmintonset. In the village Goujounac there are no shops, but there is an auberge with regional dishes, a hotel-restaurant and
a campsite with snacks and pizzas. In the neighboring village of Frayssinet, 3km away, is a very good bakery shop and a small supermarket. In Prayssac, 10 km, there are two bigger supermarkets and several other shops.

Since 2008 we live, Arjan and Hanneke Neeleman, in France. Maison d'Abou we own together with a contractor built to his own design 'for our old age' In the basement an independent 2-bedroom apartment for family and friends so that everyone has their privacy. Since we have not been to our old age, we rent Maison d'Abou want people who are as fond of the region as we are. It is our goal to provide a super holiday where you will lack nothing!
