Chateau Mondou is an attractive thirteenth century country residence located in the lush hills of the Lot et Garonne. The chateau has three gites, for 8, 6 and 4 people. There is also a large extra castle room that can be rented separately.
A lovely saltwater swimming pool of 11x5 meters is located privately behind the building. Everywhere you have an unobstructed view of the fields. A communal outdoor area with wood stove, pizza oven and long tables complete the picture. Everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Our domain has super strong and fast internet via satellite. We, Rokus and Marie-Anne, live in the left wing of the chateau. We are available to give you an extra pleasant stay.
The largest gite is located in the right wing: Bellevue. This gite has two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. It has a large, nice bathroom with two sinks and a small, simple bathroom. There are two living rooms; one with the open kitchen and large table adjacent to the enormous balcony with 180 degree views over the swimming pool and farmlands. There is also a second living room with a large wood-burning stove and armchairs and sofa. Bellevue has its own south side access to the pool.
Across the street from the chateau is gite La Loge, a former porter's house. This special gite is suitable for 6 people and has two double bedrooms, one of which is on the mezzanine. There is also a small bunk room. The kitchen is well equipped with, among other things, a large Smeg stove. There is a bathroom with shower and sink and a separate toilet. La Loge has three terraces, on the east, south and west side, and its own private garden.
Hidden behind the barn we find the third gite: La Grangee, which is located in the former barn. La Grangee is a bit smaller, very private and suitable for 4 people. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen is new and well equipped. You have optimal privacy with a private courtyard and a large garden with unobstructed views.
Finally, we have an authentic castle room with bathroom in the tower. Here you go back in time and feel like a castle lady and/or lord. Very suitable for special occasions, as a bridal suite, chambre d'hotes or simply as an extra room.
The domain stands on its own grounds of 2 hectares and is located 4 kilometers above Villeneuve sur Lot, a pleasant, lively bastide town with all amenities, markets and entertainment. The area is rural, hilly and there are numerous interesting places to visit. Tourism is pleasant and just right. Not too busy and not too quiet.
You can cycle, walk, swim, play golf (golf course 7 km), visit castles and caves, sail a boat on the Lot, visit bastide villages with a food market every evening in the high season. There are also various adventures and water parks. But perhaps the best thing is to completely relax in a comfortable chair under the lime tree.
