Bed and breakfast studio 'Pruneaux'

Chambre d'hôte "Pruneaux" is part of La Bastide Portoly, originally a traditional farmhouse. In the village of Penne d'Agenais it is also called "Le petit château". The whole consists of the house with at the bottom the large Gîte "Les Deux Cèdres", a dovecote in which the Gîte "Le Pigeonnier" is located and a former plum dryer where the chambre d'hôtes "Pruneaux" is located. More than 250 years old and full of history. Great to realize how many generations have written their history in this house.... This stone country house is located on a hill with a magnificent view of the picturesque medieval town of Penne d'Agenais with its silver dome of the basilica.
On the domain around the house are beautiful centuries-old (cedar) trees. The 5.5-hectare estate consists partly of forest. You can walk straight from the garden into the forest for a lovely walk. With a bit of luck, you might spot a deer or badger. The owl, a welcome guest, also shows itself every now and then at night.
A significant part of the estate consists of meadows where a diversity of wild plants and rare orchids grow. There are cozy corners everywhere where you can enjoy nature. Due to its unique location, a beautiful panoramic view over the rolling hills with its plum orchards, sunflower fields and vineyards is guaranteed. Anyway, an atmosphere of soothing serenity! To ensure this peace and quiet, we have made our accommodation "adult-only". This means that everyone from the age of 16 is welcome with us.

Studio "Pruneaux" is a cozy accommodation that stays nice and cool in the hot summers. The studio has a double bed, a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet and in the living area, a cozy sitting area and a dining area. Furthermore, the studio has a sink with sink, coffee/tea facilities and a small refrigerator. The terrace is located at the rear of the building and offers a lot of privacy. It has a view of the orchard, meadow and the edge of the forest.
For a good start to the day, we serve a rich international breakfast with fresh regional products and various coffee specialties. The breakfast room is available until 10:00 at the latest. If desired, we are also happy to serve breakfast in the room. 

You can park your car on the property. Also nice to know that there are several places on the estate La Bastide Portoly to enjoy the fantastic views. From the swimming pool or from the bench at the edge of the forest. An excellent way to admire the starry sky in the evening or to listen to the owls.
There is also an option to rent the chambre d'hôtes "Pruneaux" together with the gîte "Le Pigeonnier". Please let us know if you are interested in this.
