Holiday house

Parc le Duc is located 25 km north of Montpellier near the village of Fontanès, in the middle of extensive vineyards with hills, picturesque villages and hamlets in the background in a spacious piece of nature. Within a radius of 45 km around the park you will find many attractive options: the seaside resorts such as Palavas, Carnon-Plage and La Grande Motte, where you will find beautiful beaches (surfing, sailing and swimming).
Or you can enjoy yourself there around the harbors and while wandering through the cozy streets with many terraces and eateries.
Of course you can also visit the Camarque, and cities like Nîmes, Montpellier, Arlès, or enjoy the beautiful nature in the Gorges de l'Herault, the Cevennes, and the many caves. You can then rest in the wonderful tranquility of “Parc Le Duc”, on the terrace of our restaurant, or on your own terrace, while enjoying a deliciously cool local wine.

Fortunately, every caravan, cottage, nautil-home, etc. is on a plot of at least 250m². The climate of the Languedoc guarantees optimal outdoor living, sleeping, toilet making and cooking is preferably done indoors!

Lilliputienne has 3 terraces, at the front with 2 wooden sun loungers, a table with 4 chairs (ideal for breakfast) and a large parasol for all too bright sun, a side terrace with bench and chair and at the back where we around the grape tree (vigne) have placed a table, especially in the evening you can enjoy delicious food here (shade!). For the real sun worshipers there are 2 sun loungers behind… .. You can cool off under the outdoor shower! But of course you can also enjoy a dip in the swimming pool of the park.

Lilliputienne is located on the edge of the park, at the rear of the house you are completely free (sans vis à vis). But the other terraces (due to vegetation) also guarantee optimal privacy. Moreover, this part of the park is “out of the way” and will only be visited by fellow residents. Look for sun or shade, pick up a book, there are enough in the bookcase, a chair, pour a local wine in and you are God (Goddess) in France! Or let yourself be gently lulled to sleep by the eternal lullaby of the singing cicadas. Of course, there are plenty of options for those who need more activity. I already mentioned the swimming pool, with its terrace, but there is also a jeu de boules court, a tennis court, a volleyball court, a table tennis table and a playground for the little ones. In high season, an animation team guarantees entertainment for young people up to 14 years old. But elderly people can also easily find a connection if desired. The advantage here is that Dutch is spoken at the park and that the French staff are at least patient with non-native speakers. I understand that some eyebrows are rising. Such a Dutch enclave in France! Trust me, there are plenty of opportunities to use the recently (or long-established) knowledge of French, but for many it is nice to be able to rely on Dutch supporters, especially in emergency situations. The park's swimming pool and restaurant are very popular with the indigenous people of the surrounding villages and the residents of Vacquières go to great lengths to involve the residents of Parc le Duc in local events. Make use of it, it is nice to get some local color in this way.

The park's bar and restaurant are run by our not-to-praise Jorice. You can eat well here for a very reasonable rate, you can spray the meal with a local wine, after all, you don't have to drive home! During the high season, Jorice organizes a menu musique every Sunday evening, the bands are often surprisingly good!

Why did we choose Lilliputienne? We have been coming to this region for 15 years, in 2005 we took the plunge and bought Lilliputienne. The cottage is located on a holiday park of 52 ha, of which 11 ha. is divided into lots of 250 to 600m². The park is under Dutch management, but belongs to the village of Vacquières and therefore falls under French law.

Additional information

What you need to take except passport, money, any medicine, clothing, footwear and toiletries? Bed linen, towels and tea towels! There is a washing machine so you do the quantities not to overdo it. The park has a dryer (in the loft next to the terrace of the restaurant), coins for this device you can buy at the reception, but you can also put things to the dry fly lines in the garden. We have tried Lilliputienne as complete, comfortable and cozy as possible to set up and there are actually still working. An overview of what you'll find Zaal: Living room - sofa (2 x 2-seater), coffee table, corner table, LCD TV with satellite reception, DVD player, CD player with tuner and a bookcase with all kinds of literature. Wifi available free (wireless)
Air conditioning in high season surcharge of € 20 per week
Kitchen corner kitchen with carousel cupboard and drawers (kitchen), sink, stove, fridge-freezer, kitchen island (charging) breakfast bar and 4 chairs (extra chairs under the bed in bedroom), dresser (course content), saucepans, frying pans, frying pans, wok, griddle, fryer, blender, toaster, blender, gourmet set, microwave, Senseo. All stocks can be used, but make up what is or is low. Leave at least water, toilet paper and some coffee pods please back in October 2007 We have updated the kitchen and its own bar proud of the result. For countertops, we chose beech, urge you to request not to be used as a cutting board! Bathroom - shower (do not forget the shower curtain in the tank to hang, otherwise you really can paddle), washbasin + following table (in one of the drawers is a hair dryer), medicine cabinet with mirror, toilet, washing machine, low table which include washing powder etc. and a first aid kit. Water is very rich in calcium in this environment. Therefore prefer to use bottled water in the coffee machine and the machine always anti-lime add, I leave behind sufficient stock. Bedroom - with 2-bed (1.40 x 2 m), a closet (hanging / leg) and a ceiling fan. Bedroom - with 2 x 1-bed, cupboard, corner cupboard with fan. In the cabinet there is a vacuum cleaner, iron and extra fans for the other spaces. Behind the door is the ironing board. Bedroom - (or small horn) with bunk beds and wardrobe. Pillows, duvets and blankets abound. Outside is a covered terrace with 2 wooden deck chairs, parasol, table with 4 chairs and parasol. Side terrace with box for pillows (I have put a tablecloth over it, he is quite white and resembling a freezer!), A bench, chair and a parasol. Behind, our showpiece, the grape tree with around a table with 4 chairs. In 2006 we purchased this table. Originally hear a patio heater in the hole to stand. Moderately redundant in this climate. It seemed a nice idea to plant a plane there and the table around it. The leaves were then able to provide the necessary shade. Those who imagine our surprise when we were in the land of the plane no plane could buy! In our search we have encountered this grape tree and it eventually went before. It has many sweat droplet Ron cost. There were indeed a deep hole dug and the soil is rather inaccessible (hence no cellar or pool in the garden). It was also about 45 °. But it's nice but succeeded. And despite the heat, which you really can not plant trees, he seems still to catch on. He has this year although no fruit, but that's because his energy in the roots was stabbing. Better luck next year! Anyway, you can now great food ... All terraces are illuminated. Behind on the site you'll find 2 chairs with parasol and dry lines. There are also additional seats behind the house to be found. On our program for 2008 is the realization of a lounge! Garbage, waste paper, empty bottles you terreintje lost on the back of the park (on the right of the entrance path 3). The waste is collected separately. I like cooking very much and I can really enjoy. Where can I find in the Netherlands such a range of fresh produce? That's why I put down a row of cookbooks and a recipe book left blank. Maybe you feel like a recipe for me to write? Hopefully you can take some time to write something in the guestbook, even (constructive) criticism is welcome! I almost forgot the most important ...... how do you get in this divine place? A-9 to follow Vendargues, between Nimes and Montpellier, exit 28. The distance to the park more than 25 kilometers. After the exit fairly quickly right, the signs Castries / Sommières follow. At the roundabout direction D 68 Teyran the road straight ahead, not right. After 13 kilometers at the roundabout (under construction) right towards St. Croix Quintillargues (D 109), then crossing piece right and immediately left towards Fontanès through the village, you've Parc le Duc soon on your right . You need a pass to the barrier to pass. This is in most cases done at the reception. Look at the alphabetical heading. Have you taken this obstacle, you go towards house. Continue to input 3 and go straight to the end, turn left and almost immediately on your right you see Lilliputienne (No. 258). I hope with all of the above some of our enthusiasm for the Languedoc have been able to transfer. We wish you a pleasant time in this region and to Lilliputienne in particular. Ron and Martie Brabander
Self we come 15 years in this region, in 2005 we took the plunge and bought Lilliputienne. The house stands on a park of 52 ha, 11 ha. is divided into plots of 250 to 600m ². The park is under Dutch management, but does belong to the village Vacquières and therefore falls under French law. In the beginning there were only wooden caravans, toilets and washrooms were scattered throughout the park, a kind of glorified camping so. Comfort, in the form of connection to water, sewerage and electricity, took shape in subsequent years. In the 80s and 90s have a lot of people decided their wooden caravan replaced by a stone house in order to optimize comfort. This was still possible, today may be on each plot only 30m ² builded. Hence all really outdated caravans replaced by so-called Nautil-homes. All existing stone houses were allowed to stay! The foregoing explains the varied buildings at Parc le Duc. Fortunately, every caravan, cabin, etc. Nautil-home on a plot of at least 250m ². The climate of the Languedoc guarantees optimum outdoors, only sleeping, toilet and cooking done preferably within! Lilliputienne has 3 terraces, for with 2 wooden deck chairs, a table with 4 chairs (great for breakfast) and a large sunshade for overly bright sun, a side terrace with bench and chair and back where we round the grape tree (Vine) a table have posted, especially in the evening you can savor mouthwatering gourmet cuisine (schaduw!). For the real sun worshipers there are 2 chairs behind ..... Cool can you possibly under the outdoor shower! But of course you can also enjoy dipping in the pool at the park. Lilliputienne is on the edge of the park at the rear of the house you're perfectly free (sans fish to fish). But the other terraces (by vegetation) guarantee optimal privacy. Moreover, this part of the park "in the loop" and will only be searched by inmates. Search for sun or shade, grab a book, there are plenty in the bookcase, a chair, pour a local wine in a well you are God (Goddess) in France! Or do you sweetly lulled by the lullaby of eternal zangcicaden. Obviously there are some more for those who need plenty of activity options. I already mentioned the pool with terase, but there is also a bowling alley, tennis courts, volleyball, table tennis and a playground for children. In high season the animation team ensures entertainment for the youth to 14 years. But the elderly, find, if desired, easy connection. The advantage here is that the park is spoken Dutch and the French staff at least patience with foreigners. I understand that some eyebrows rise. Some Dutch enclave in France! Trust me, there are plenty of opportunities to pass (or long) knowledge of French to spew, but for many it is nice, especially in emergencies, to rely on a Dutch supporters. The pool and restaurant in the park are very popular among the indigenous population of the surrounding villages and the inhabitants of Vacquières make much effort to the residents of Parc le Duc involved in local events. Make use of it especially, it's nice to similarly some "local color" to do. The bar and restaurant at the park are under the direction of our prices not enough to Jos. You can eat well for a very reasonable rate, the meal can be sprayed with a local wine, because you do not drive home! In high season, every Sunday Jos a menu musique, the straps are surprisingly good! Once a week, high season, there is a disco or a foam party. I want you in advance to warn you of this foam is not cleaner! Obviously it is not intended that your vacation to the park or in the house wears, and the area offers plenty for everyone! The couples will take a trip by canoe to make the river Herault. Direction "Ganges" will find several rental companies, ourselves always choose "Le Moulin". After a short instruction can you go paddling. A helmet and life jacket (to be issued) are required. Let's just hope that there is enough water in the river because "klunen" with such a canoe on your neck is not easy! Nearby you can also cycle. There are even bike week held at Parc le Duc (see our website)! Mind you I have no experience, but I suppose an ordinary city bike will not comply. Motorcyclists will also enjoy themselves. You can make beautiful trips. (Of course you can also enjoy the comfort of your car do). At several places in the River Hérault and the fish can swim. The bottom of the rivers is covered with rocks and is so slippery, smooth and sometimes sharp. Slippers, badschoentjes or even sneakers are not a luxury! Climb the Pic Saint Loup. This feat is within our family only by Ron and Daan accomplished. A walk to the top of about 1 ½ hours, the descent seemed to go faster. Make sure you have sturdy shoes attracts. The Pic Saint-Loup (Mountain of St. Loup) is a mountain in Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France. The 658 meters high mountain towers above all the mountains and hills in the area and is visible in many parts of the area around Montpellier. The mountain is located between the villages Cazevielle, Saint-Mathieu-de-Treviers, Saint-Jean-de-Cuculles and Saint-Martin de Londres. Due to the fact that the mountain as well as on steep sloping sides available, it is an attraction for hikers and mountaineers. On top of the mountain is a small chapel and a large steel cross. The Pic Saint Loup is named after a medieval legend. Three brothers, named Loup, Guiral and Clair, all love the clean Bertrade, departed on crusade without that they knew whom they would choose as a husband. Once back from the Holy Land, was the beloved deceased Bertrade however. In their grief and despair, the three brothers to live as hermits in three neighboring mountains. The peak which Guiral lived, was called the Saint-Guiral. This is located near the Aigoual. The mountain on which lived Clair, Saint Clair, and set at the foot of this mountain town of Sète was built. Thieri Loup occupied the highest of the three mountains, the Pic Saint Loup. Like his three brothers, while he lived he kindled every year on March 19, a fire in memory of his beloved. The markets ..... with their fruit and vegetables, cheeses, bread, honey, wine, fish, poultry, meat, plants, clothing, tablecloths, gadgets, etc. The most fun you can find below: Anduze on Thursday, extended winds through the town around, after you you enjoy lunch on the square. Ganges on Friday, very cozy, after lunch we always "Le Jardin Exotique" is a must. Sommières on Saturday, nice medieval town, do not forget half the square coffee and tarte au citron to take, you still have room for lunch, please contact Claude (friend of Jos), the restaurant has l 'Estrocade. Uzès also on Saturday, very busy but fun. Montpellier, La Paillade, Le Mosson persist, flea market on Sundays, very extensive and very nice! These range from pure crap to beautiful old linens, crystal, silver, etc. We love to relax and score actually always something, see Lilliputienne. Following is a fixture for us to have lunch at the Port of Carnon, nice view and beautiful terraces. Do not you like flea markets? There is also a large market on Sunday in Lunel! Valid for all markets, from your bed early because at 13.00 the party has ended. To the south, and skip the beach is of course impossible. We always go to Carnon "Le Petit Travers." You can usually park your car easily, do a few steps and voilà, sand and sea. In the house are below the bunk 2 beach chairs, 2 loungers and a parasol. Ice cream, soft drinks, water, coffee, tea, you can take but there are also sellers on and off on the beach. An absolute must is a fritter of "Loulou" rude big, sweet and sticky! And ladies ..... Loulou is such a senior baby! In Palavas, La Grande Motte you evening entertainment, for example to the casino. But Palavas is much more fun! Directions can be found in the white folder in the corner cupboard. Food and drink ..... Of course, you not only in Jos good food. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area. In the white folder (corner cabinet) we have some maps of several restaurants stopped. For one you bit more expensive than the other. But the value for money is all fine. There are numerous caves in the vicinity of the park and everywhere you can taste (degustation) before you go to buy. Take along a BOB! The nearest place where you can do your shopping, Saint Mathieu. Here is a baker and more small shops but also an Inter Marche (supermarket) and a gas station. In Jacou, or further away, a larger Intermarché and various other shops and make a Mc Donald's and a pizzeria, a reasonably quick bite. The best address is the Carrefour shopping center, mega-huge and an amazing offer. From Carnon Plage is quite close. Keep direction lesson to Lattes. The Carrefour occupies a very nice shopping center with shops (clothing and shoes!). There is also a giant toy store, we have many hours behind hebberiger increasingly becoming sons approached. (Which is already a while back, though!) Directions and a "carte de fidélité of Carrefour, a kind of bonus card in the white folder. Fruit and vegetables at the stalls, you can easily buy the road, it's often much cheaper and fresher! In the summer there is a bakery every day at the park. He is between 09.00 and 09.30 hours at the desk and begins with the sale. Then he makes a round park, where routes are completely arbitrary and absolutely unpredictable. Attractive towns and villages ..... all the previously mentioned market towns are very nice. The cottage is a guide ANWB of these places where you also find a description. Furthermore, I call Sauve, a medieval town, do not forget your camera, Aigues-Mortes, a walled fortress, Saint Martin de Londres, St. Guilhem le Desert and of course, Nimes, Montpellier, Avignon, Ales, Sete, Beziers. I remember there must be a lot of mention, but just step into your car or your motorcycle or bike and go nose. Bet you a lot of fun encounter. On one of our trips surprise we discovered by accident on an antique building materials instead ended (N 112), the owner is so mad as a hatter, but what a stuff ......! You can easily spend a few hours looking and remember to build a castle or cathedral. Each season has its own natural charm. In 2006 we are responsible for the first time in the spring was. For us it was amazing to see that our Languedoc can also be green! And the vineyards of course also look different than in summer or autumn, they are anyway always beautiful. In late August or early September, depending on the weather, the grapes are harvested, vendanges. We never did but it seems to have been accompanied by many local festivities. Sante! In October, much hunted. Especially on Sundays see and hear men, dogs and shotguns. It has some! Do not misunderstand me, the last thing I crave is that Ron is going to something like that car and that I was then with the final result will be concerned (skinning, skinning, brrr!). But here it just belongs to the season. The climate is quite different to that of the Netherlands. The average number of sunshine hours exceeds your wildest expectations. Spring is warmer, drier and sunnier. In summer it is often very hot, averaging 30 to 35 °, with peaks as in 2006 to 48 °, pffft! But it can also be quite ghosts, sudden winds and terrible storms. (That's why when you leave or go to bed, the pillows and parasols clean!) Luckily it never so long. In the autumn day, you can still lie on the beach but you have the evening really need a heater. Also, the heavy rain than make roads impassable rivers and outside the banks. In Sommières you can see how high the water has been and that is not so very long ago. Because the summer is so dry there is always danger of forest fires. In 2003, Parc le Duc narrowly escaped a catastrophe. So again, perhaps unnecessarily, open fire and bbq on charcoal and gas are rightly forbidden! Also watch out with burning cigarette butts! The cottage is a comprehensive instruction what to do in case of fire (side of the fridge), also depends on a small fire extinguisher. The beautiful starry night an extra treat. Also because you do not suffer from light pollution is truly breathtaking. Never fun and not in your vacation, but you can become sick or suffer from teeth are. In reception is a list of duty doctors and dentists. Do not hesitate in emergencies or on weekends in the administrator mode.
The park has a large swimming pool and smaller pool for children with supervision.
A typical harbor and fishing town of Sète in the Languedoc is, at a great distance to recognize the hill "Mont Saint Clair 'that dominates the area. On the south side is the sea, to the north the lake the 'Etang de Thau' and by a headland, the heu sheet connected to the mainland. There are channels throughout the city along the terraces. The town is so sheltered, that throughout the year is eaten outside on the Mont Saint Clair is a cemetery, the "Cimetière Marin 'where the poet Paul Valery is buried. The sea view is magnificent and the tombs are worth seeing. The chansonnier Georges Brassens who was born in Sete, is buried in the cemetery 'Le Py' that of the north face of Mont Saint Clair views over the lake. There is a small museum at the cemetery Espace Brassens. Slightly higher up the hill is a museum documents the history of Sete and the summit is a chapel and a watchtower. In clear weather there are views of the oyster and mussel beds of the Etang de Thau, the Cevennes and the Pyrenees even tor afternoon around four o'clock the fishing boats return from the sea to the fish auction. On the quay are the elderly fishermen repairing nets between the strangest objects in the nets along the sea came from. Very occasionally a stuffed fish hanging from the ceiling. The commercial harbor is Frontignan direction, here are below the other ferries that sail to Morocco and Algeria. From Agde is the way through the 'Corniche' the most beautiful and the car can be parked under one of the channels in a garage.
Would you visit a beautiful city, Montpellier is really worth. By car you drive to the center direction 'Polygon', there is always room in the underground garage. Polygon is a large indoor shopping mall with great stores. There is a pleasant, relatively quiet atmosphere. From this center you are immediately in the old part of the Place de la Comédie in the heart of the city where you once sat on a terrace, hardly out of here. A walk through the old town with its narrow shopping streets and shady promenades is picturesque. Again, beautiful shops and nice terraces, moreover, the whole center car-free. Everywhere in the old town is the restored buildings of the university, the churches, cathedral and courtyards of old houses. The contrast can be behind the Polygon will bring a visit to a super-modern building 'Antigone' designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill in the 20th century neo-Greek style. Even in the courtyard to watch. Not directly a building which you would expect that it is intended for social housing, as is the case here. The related area is inspired by the same thema.Het main museum of Montpellier, Musee Fabre, where Bazille's works can be admired. Frederique Bazille-one-painted his impressionist paintings in the near Montpellier. There is also work by Courbet, Morisot, Veronese and Géricault. Around the city again to drive you can travel via the motorway go, that's dc shortest path and otherwise it is hard to find. The signs volgcn direction A 9-Sud.
