The beautiful chalet Fleur de Lys was built in 2001, entirely in the style of the region and located on the mountain Mont Chauffé in Richebourg, a small town 2.5 km from the rustic village of Abondance with an abbey dating from the 14th century. Here you will find a cozy family ski area. At 3 km to the other side is the village of Chapelle d'Abondance with an old church and nice bars, restaurants and shops, just past the village is also a large supermarket. Here are 2 ski lifts, 1 for a small area and 1 for the large area.
A good bus connection takes you in 15 minutes to Chatel, a touristic winter sports resort with the large ski area Portes du Soleil, and to Thonon les Bains on the beautiful Lake Geneva, only 30 minutes away.
Portes du Soleil is snow-sure and there is a free ski bus that stops 50m in front of the door, the nearest cabin lift is 5 minutes away in La Chapelle, where there is a small, quiet ski area.
The bus also takes you in less than 15 minutes to the large area of 650 km of slopes with 3 ski lifts, La Linga, Pre la Joux and Pierre la Lonque for a trip to Switzerland via Chatel and Avoriaz to Champery and Morgins.
In the summer it is wonderful to walk to the various mountain lakes or take a boat trip on Lake Geneva with its beautiful old seaside resorts Evian and Thonon les Bains or Montreux.
The Fleur de Lys chalet offers space for 4-14 people and is fully equipped, including a spacious living room, open kitchen with induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher.
The living room is equipped with comfortable spacious sofas, a fireplace and a large flat screen television with satellite dish, so you don't have to miss Dutch programs.
The long dining table seats more than 14 people. Here you can enjoy, for example, a fresh cheese fondue, available at the local cheese farmer in the village.
There are 6 spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, 1 of which has a bathtub. Around the chalet is a balcony and a large terrace where you can enjoy a day in the mountains after skiing in the sun. There are ski boot warmers in the small chalet. You can let your ski boots dry here or warm them up for half an hour in the morning before skiing.
