Beautiful quietly located villa with swimming pool and wood-fired hot tub
The house is located in the Gers region. It is still an unknown region full of gems, both culturally and in terms of nature. For the French themselves, the Gers is known as "French Tuscany" with rolling and colorful hills with sunflowers and hidden villages. Culinarily, the Gers is known for its foie gras, duck breast, Madiran wines, Floc de Gascogne, Pousse Rapiere, local Saint Mont wines and of course Armagnac. So if you love wine, the good French life, sunflowers and the vast green and rolling landscape, you should definitely go to the South West of France: the undiscovered Tuscany of France.
One sits relatively close to the rugged and spectacular west coast, with your feet in the sand on the beach at Biarritz, about 2 hours away. The busy east coast is also relatively close with a 3-hour drive. Within two hours you are at the foot of the Pyrenees in the south.
In the garden there are several special blossom trees, oleanders and roses. The forest behind it is 19 hectares. From the garden you can walk straight into the forest where you will find a tree house in an ancient oak tree along the way. In front of the house there is also a pond where you can hear green frogs croaking in spring. There are several covered shaded terraces at the front, south and southwest side of the house where one can sit or eat. In the garden there are also several seating areas and hammocks to relax and forget all the stress.
The heated pool has spacious dimensions: 12.5 meters by 5 meters and 2.3 meters deep and has a jet stream at the end. The pool has colored underwater LED lighting and around the pool, near the lounge set and the gazebo there is mood lighting. By the pool is a sunbathing area with sun loungers, sunbeds and palm trees for shade.
Near the pool is a spa hot tub for 8 people, the hot tub is LED lit and is heated by a wood-burning fireplace. From the hot tub you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky in the evening.
The last weeks of July and first week of August there is the world famous jazz festival in Marciac every year, only an 8 minute drive from the house via small rural roads.
The house has a beautiful tower room of 6.5 meters high.
The living room flows into the dining room with a dining table for 8 people. Then you enter the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a 6 burner Smeg stove, a large oven, a small refrigerator, a regular coffee maker and a Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother. In the utility room there is an American fridge with ice maker, a microwave and a washing machine and dryer. Outside adjacent to the dining room is a covered terrace with a table for 10 people with outdoor fireplace and pizza oven. From this terrace there is a view of the garden and the valley. In clear weather, the beautiful white peaks of the Pyrenees are clearly visible.
The house has 3 bedrooms with double beds, 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets. In one of the bedrooms there is an extra single bed (adult size). The master bedroom has its own small bathroom and an adjoining room with a large wardrobe and bunk beds (adult size).
In total, the house offers sleeping space for 6 adults and 3 children.
The house is also suitable for pets.
The swimming pool will be closed from November to April.
