General
Our beautiful holiday home is within walking distance of the old village of Uzès, and cities such as Nîmes and Avignon are also easily accessible. The house stands on a plot of more than 2000 square meters and features a heated swimming pool, beautiful outdoor furniture, a large lawn and much more. Ideal for seeking peace and quiet, but just as much fun for the children, who can use the table tennis table and play football on the large lawn.
Layout and facilities
The house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and can accommodate up to eight visitors. One bathroom is equipped with a toilet and lovely rain shower, the other with a bath. Because of the heated swimming pool, the house is nice to visit from early spring to autumn and late summer. There are beautiful sunbeds, there is also a table tennis table and three mountain bikes. This way you can also enjoy some fanatic sports. The mountain bikes can be used not only for enthusiastic sports, but also for the daily trip to the bakery, for example. There is a washing machine in the house, which can be dried in the warm French sun. The kitchen has everything you need and there is wood outside for the indoor and outdoor fireplace. We always barbecue in the outdoor fireplace and it is then transformed into a campfire.
The house always looks perfect thanks to our wonderful gardener and cleaning lady! The pool is very well maintained and the grass is always mowed, which completes the appearance of the house. You can provide bed linen yourself, or have it provided for only 10 euros per person.
Area
The village of Uzès provides you with all amenities. There are a few supermarkets in the village, the larger supermarkets (Intermarché and Carrefour) are about a five kilometer drive away. There are plenty of cozy restaurants and bakeries in Uzès, but Uzès is best known for its market, which is held every Saturday morning and attracts a large number of people every week. A visit to this market cannot be missed during your visit. Uzès is located in the Gard department, named after the river of the same name. The Pont du Gard, a beautiful old Roman structure, is just a fifteen-minute drive away. This aqueduct was built 2000 years ago to transport water between Uzès and Nïmes. It is certainly recommended to do a canoe route through the Gard, with the highlight being canoeing under the Pont du Gard. There is a golf course in the area and just a two-minute drive away, just before you enter Uzès, is a tennis club where you can rent a court. There is certainly a lot more to do, interested in what?
